The LS1 and LS6 aren't DOHC. Do those Cavalier owners think C5 Corvettes are slow?

Forgetting that...what the hell is a Cavalier owner doing criticizing any cars, let alone Ralliarts? I've ridden in a brand new 2005 Cavalier (a rental), and it made my old '93 Saturn SL seem like a pretty nice car. It didn't have power locks or windows (neither did my Saturn, but I could've sworn between 1993 and 2005 those things became standard in almost every car) and fit & finish were terrible (giant panel gaps, etc). The engine was one of the new Ecotec's. It was perfectly fine for a basic small car, but it also certainly didn't have the get-up-and-go of our 4G69's. It didn't sound nearly as good either (but that could just be the exhaust...mmm, I love the sound of our cars stock).

Besides, why's everyone so concerned about what others think of their cars? I do care too, but I care much more what _I_ think of my car and how much fun I have with it.

Edit: I shouldn't have turned that into a rant on the Cavalier

Edit #2: My (lack of) engine knowledge showed through, but I think my point did as well. (The point being that who cares what specific technologies are or aren't used to make an engine perform well, so long as it does.)

^^^ true.

There are more sI in my city than specV, but atleast the specV's give me more attention and props, they know what's up. Those sI and other honda kids think its the base lancer with 120hp and in reality i will eat there 127hp bad. Maaaaan, i really wanted to race that girl but its not worth my gas or mivec effort.

Actually, the LS1 and LS6 are not SOHC, they are OHV... the cam is in the block, not in the heads.

DOHC is overrated anyways... it's good for high-rpm screamer engines, but we've still got 16 valves and variable valve timing.

Dude, the reason why they say that is, because they see this...
SpecV: 175hp / 180trq
Ralliart: 162hp / 162 trq

This is what they don't see...
SpecV - 143hp & 150trq
Ralliart - 146hp & 149trq

Those are dyno'd, stock WHP on both vehicles. So in reality its a driver races.
