People suck.

Cheap way is to just carry a disposable camera in your car and keep it within reach and ready to go. Make sure it's no-flash so it doesn't glare off the windsheild. There's really not any other "quick" ways to grab a shot. Digitals take a moment to grab the shot, and you can't really leave that in your car, and you'd have to leave it on all the time (drain the battery).

About the badge: If you've had your car for some time now and it's parked under the sun most of the times, the paint color probably faded averywhere but under the badge... ...so you either have to get the trunk repainted, put the badge on or... well, live with it.

i was thinkning of putting cameras in my car to, but to protect me from police. I would also like info on this. I have spent thousands of dollars because douchebag cops thinks it's funny to mess with peoples lives. I would be willing to invest in a camera system that I could turn on when pulled over.

Personally, unless you have something like this happening everyday, I wouldn't worry about it. A camera, in my opinion, would be overkill. Nothing that an alarm wouldn't be able to handle; besides, if someone stole your car, they would also have the camera and tape.

As for the badging on the car, I had the same problem. I took of the lancer letters and were still able to see where they were. I took claybar to the trunk and it worked wonders. Give it a shot!

if he was in a mini van couldnt you catch him? because that statement you made sounds a bite arrogant saying some one is jealous because they have a minivan.

i have had the same problem about people throwing something, but my story was kinda funny, me and a freind in him MX-3! pissed off a guy in a Merc SL500, but he threw a can of Red Bull at his car. we would hav gotten his plate but we were laughing to hard, when he tried to catch up the him....100HP(prolly less) VS. 500HP....who wins?

but any ways the Avic-N1 system has the ability to add a camera like a back up cam that you can have installed that will run while your driving normally, so all you need is to get the $1500 HU and the +/-$200 cam for it and mount the cam anywhere, besides that you can go custom, and pay some serious money

I have words for people like that, but I'd get thrown off the board.

What kinda minivan was this that sped off like a bat out of hell and you couldnt catch him? Like someone said earlier, unless your getting harrased day to day, then take some action, but everyone gets there run ins. My friend and I were driving in his WRX, we were on some nice country type roads...no traffic...just fields..and we had this one guy tailing us and honkin his horn..We sped off..lost him..parked in a parkin lot at a state park and the guy parked behind us, threw a stick at his car, and drove off..It was strange..He even had his liscense plate covered with paper..Took alittle dent in his quarter panel. Never got a hold of who he was so it was a waste to report it..

We did an install of an anti-cop surveillance system some time ago. It was pretty low-tech, but it did everything we wanted. We installed 3 cameras in the car. One faced the driver and window, the second faced forward and the last faced backwards. All the cameras had a low lux IR for night recording as well. When normal driving the system is shut off and inactive. But when pulled over, at the touch of a button, the VCR and all cameras are activated with time stamp and date to record what goes on at the window as well as capture the identity of the cruiser in front of or behind them. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the police departments around the land and when we put this system together it wasn't to get one over on the police, but rather make sure they keep within the guidelines of the power they are given. Cruisers are being equipped with cameras to ensure the safety of officers from danger. But what happens to our rights as drivers when the danger to our good names and clean records happens to be the officer who didn't make his quota on tickets or is just having a bad day? For those able to afford such a system, I believe the peace of mind it gives you is worth more than the asking price.
