Just a curious/dumb question. It should probably be in a BS forum or something, but whatever.
Just wondering how most of the people here like to drive in terms of position, steering wheel position, seat height, head rest etc.
For me, I have the seat almost all the way back (maybe 2 or 3 notches from all the way), i'm not that tall (maybe 5'11"). The seat back is suitably reclined
Head rest is all the way down, steering wheel is as low as I can have it and still see the top edge of the tach. As for how I sit, I slouch, 90% of the time I lay my left elbow on the door armrest and put my fingers around the bottom, left spoke of the steering wheel. My right arm sits on the center armrest, often not touching the wheel. If I decide to drive hard, I sit up, usually put both hands on the wheel and don't slouch so far back on the seatback.
Now, if you're wondering if I was drunk when I typed this, no I wasn't, although it is 2AM

My seat is... I'd say about halfway to the front. Back is more or less upright, but not racing-seat upright. Steering wheel is as low as it goes without blocking the speedo. Left hand, same thing, elbow on armrest thingy and palm on the bottom left spoke of the steering wheel. Right hand, well, I have an auto, so there isn't much I can do with it. I used to just rest it on top of the gear shift lever, but I found it becoming a little bit loose. Or maybe it was like that before; anyway, I stopped doing that cause I don't wanna loosen it more, and just keep my right hand on the handbrake now, elbow on the centre armrest. Sometimes I'll drive with my right hand below the bottom right spoke, and just rest my left on the armrest. headrest is... somewhere, I never touch it so I don't care much for it.

I thought this was going to be a "how do you drive" as in hard or soft or medium kind of thread. I guess those have been done already.

 

Strapped into the Recardo, left hand on top of steering wheel, right hand shifting like a mad-man...holding on for dear life!!!!!

I have similar setting captain, I'm the same height, the only difference my other hand is usually fending off the kids in the back seat, lol.......

 

I have tried driving in a forward/upright position, I just get sore/cramped. I like to spread out, i'm like this everywhere too. As for "suitably reclined" its not laying on the back seat lol. I can't do the "10 and 2" thing much longer than a few minutes, my arms get tired when they aren't resting on something haha.

I remember the post on evom about an auction on ebay where they reffered to the seats as recardo's.......Too funny!!!

Well now that we are getting specific.. Im 6 foot even

Seat is three notches from the back, with the height right in the middle
Its about 2 notches reclined from 90 degrees verticle and the head rest all the way down

Left arm on the sill with my hand the bottom spoke and my right arm on the armrest
Driving barefoot always
Windows down and the radio pumping out my favorite band of the time at volume 27

And maybe Im superstitious

 

I'm 6' and drive with my left elbow resting on window ledge and left hand holding onto the left steering spoke. Right hand I ALWAYS have resting on shifter (unless I'm cornering HARD). I am 2 notches from all the way back and 2 notches away from being all the way upright. My steering wheel is in the upmost position.

Overall I drive pretty aggressively unless my kids (2-girls) are in the car. They sometimes want me to go fast and when I can't resist, I'll accelerate hard, but not really go over the speed limit.

Therez this hill around me called Dictionary Hill that I'll run up and down. Huge hills with killer inclines/declines. You can actually get some air (2-3 inches)!!! I'll try and have someone take a pic of me coming down one.

 

I'm 6'3". I sit all the way back with the seat lowered all the way. Seatback is up straight. I like to have just a slight bend in my elbow when my left hand is resting on top of the wheel. Right hand on the shifter.

If Mitsu had included a telescoping steering column, I'd sit back even further, as I prefer to have my legs straight out, almost as if I'm sitting on the floor of the car.

 

I am 4'9". 1/2 notches from all the way to the front and 1\3 notches away from being all the way upright. My steering wheel is in the downmost position, I shift with my right foot, I rest my left foot in the window, and I use my right and left hand's for break cluch and gas , I keep on eye on the road with the BROWN eye. LOL

 

5 foot 6.... i sit um.. mad close to the pedals.. enough so that i can drive with my left knee should i have to. But i have my chair comfortably leaned back and the steering wheel all the way down to the lowest position. I have the Radio tuned up to about 38 (on the stock mitsu deck) with the bass up and the tweeter up to +2... lol what else... o i also like having my visors pushed all the way to the forward level position... So that it blocks out some sun.. but also doesn't cut off my sigh of stop lights above the car when i don't stop on time. haha, o yea.. can't forget the shade (sunglasses)...

 

Bruce I can honestly say after all that, I know you like a friend now....I sit pretty upright, maybe about 3-4 clicks back from like racing upright..Seat slides all the way back as I am 6'4. Steering wheel all the way up. Left hand on 12 and right hand on shifter, leaned to the right just alittle so I have full control of all the gears.
