double clutch
just wide open throttle shift! saves the hassles of removing your foot from the throttle! and double clutching will only slow you down on the drag strip! i promise you. on the track, you may need it to downshift, though i just rev-match. no real point for double clutching any car that has syncros in the tranny. its just prehistoric.
this is the way they seem to get a pull when they do. drive around in 2nd. push in the clutch and rev the gas to like 5 grand. push the shifter into 3rd, and dump the clutch! the car will lurch giving you the impression your going faster. are you really? no because you slowed down in the time it took you to do all of that, but it feels faster. and thats the trick. but it cant physically help you. not when you can slam it and keep accelarating
i am going to have to stick with the idea that double clutching (while upshifting) slows you down. i used to believe otherwise but since then i have stopped and noticed a difference...i accelerate faster while single clutching...just my opinion.
You know, I decided to try to master double clutching on my old del sol. It had a hydraulic clutch. I never noticed a performance increase but I just atributed that to my lack of skill. After 2 weeks of double clutching, I blew out my clutch's hydraulic master cylander and a few months later the slave cylander went. So yeah, F THAT! $600 bones later, I wasn't any better off than when I started. I'll never double clutch again.
