O2 sensor [again!]

OK, I drilled out the anti-fouler w/a .5" bit and screwed them both together just like the how-to shows. By the way, you need a DAMN sharp bit, I had to buy a new one!

I re-set the ECU and put everything back together. There are no clearance issues like some of the EVO's have.

My CEL light is currently off, and I'll update this every few hundred miles or so. Keep fingers crossed!!!

Herez a pic of final install:

This sux *****!!!!!!! My CEL light tripped yesterday at 175mi.

I noticed that there is a second sensor a little further back towards the muffler. I wonder if doing the same thing to this sensor would help anything?

Any suggestions?

maybe get a ODB-II reader and get the trouble code, who knows, it might just be something else.

hey retro, it looks like u placed the foulers on the first sensor, im pretty sure its supposed to be the one farther back since the cat is supposedly between them so that it senses a diff volume of exhaust. i dont know.

if u do he same theyre both gonna be sitting the same. i recommend that u undo the forward one and put the fowlers on the one farther back and try it like that for a little while.

Yeah, the idea is to have the sensor towards the rear give a better reading that the one towards the front. This tells the computer that the cat is doing its job and making the air cleaner. Just move the defoulers to the rear sensor and put the front one back in how it's supposed to be.

Cool, thanks!!! The "how-to wasn't" too clear about this. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

we have odb2 so there are two o2 sensors...one before and one after the cat. you shouldn't need to worry about the one before the cat. the one after the cat is the sensor that is tripping the cel. use the anti foulers there.

OK, today I finally got under my car and switched the anti-foulers to the rear sensor. Of course, I reset the computer too. I'm driving to L.A. on FRI & SUN this weekend. I should have 1,000mi on it by the end of next week... we'll see what happens!
