My car came with bridgestone potenza RE92's which are V speed rated. V=130mph

I believe the only other tires that were OE on these cars were the goodyear RS-A which have same V speed rating.

Exclamation just look at the tires for your info...

Either the tech was pulling your leg, you misunderstood or hes got braindamage. If you take a look at the OE tires on these you will see that they are 205/50VR16 86V. As I mentioned above both the eagle rs-a and the bfg re92 have this rating. You can check anywhere in your tech manuals or online as to what this info means.

breakdown 205 is the width in mm, 50 is the aspect ratio which is the hight of the rubber and is based on a ratio of sidewall height to width. V is speed rating of the tire v=150mph. R16 is the tire diameter in inches. The second set of numbers 86V is the service desription. 86 being the load index (how much weight the tire can handle) and V being the speed rating noted again.

The closest speed rating to 94MPH is a P speed rating which is 93MPH. Spare tires are normally N speed rated which is only 87MPH and is only 1 step down from the P rating. Most minivans and family sedans have tires that are between S and H speed rated (112 - 130mph) and since our ralliarts are considered to be in the compact sports category, it is only logical to assume that a sports class tire would be used.

As a parts guy at an automotive dealer, you really should take it upon yourself to learn more about the basics of cars themselves so you can understand better what it is you are selling and can also better help your customers. The internet is a massive library and with search engines like 'google' it takes only a few seconds on average to look something up.

^^^^ I AM WITH HIM^^^

I may be a chick but I know my ****.. I work on cars and have done so for atleast 5 years now(as a job) prior to that I was raised in a family of mechanics and racers.
Mivec John.. While I agree you are in PR and have more available parts.. I dont agree that you have the rev limiter removed.. All I was saying is how can you remove something that wasnt there to begin with?Entiendes?

To answer the question.. Free Revving engine means there is NO limiter.. Granted there may be a fuel cut.. The RA is NOT like a Honda/Acura.. You can bounce the needle off the Rev limiter on a Civic or RSX or Integra all day and make that Annoying Studdering sound all day.. We cannot. We rev and thats about it.. ITs just revs and if you over rev it.. It Cuts off the Fuel supply and closes the throttle so the engine basically is in a Idling mode almost.

I am half Boricua and know the difference in culture and all,but you gotta remember, you guys like tuning Corollas there on your own.. we like tuning our mitsubishis here on our own.. Most of the guys here dont take thier cars to get worked on,they put the parts on thier selves and either tune it themselves or take it to a Dyno meet where they can watch and learn how to tune thier car there.

As for speed and topspeed... You guys really need to learn about the RA.. I agree with Mivec John that the RA has ALOT of potential. And the physics of racing include ALOT.Not just the drag co-effiecient but we are all from different elevations.I guarantee someone from FL might run a 14.2 there.. But come up north to a higher elevation and your times WONT be the same.. your topspeed depends on ALOT of factors.NOT JUST THE CAR OR DRIVER.It depends on Air Temp,Humidity,BArometric pressure ( Density),Elevation,Etc.
Basically what I am saying is If you are 200 Ft above Sea level,The air is Denser than if you are 1200 ft above sea level where the air is thinner and most likely not as humid.

i dont know what puerto rico you come from but from pr
ford, chevy , hondas, mitsus, hyundai, are the MOST you say corollas? with all do respect WTF??!

when you change the ECU you change the 'natural' limit of the car if you punch the pedal it will stop the engine @ 7.5k or so...right?
my ecu controls that, is the magic of programing mine gos over, way over that
if you do not know who to tune/ program it does not matter if you have 15 years exp or you are the son/daughter of john force -to say a name- you will not acomplish that... you will still be reving the engine on the stock meter....

fill the ecuation
IIC-460 + microtech = ? no rev limit

now beba, who gets owned by who?
