Cool VRS Exhaust Ralliart Catbacks!!!

[EDIT] Mods: I'm not selling this. Just giving my review and letting everyone know its available. I did alot of work to make this happen for everyon, and I did it for free. Please dont hate =) [/EDIT]

Yes, i know there is another interest thread about this, but alot of interested people missed it and PM'd when I brough it up elsewhere, so heres the story. Long story short, its not an 'interest' anymore. its here for us =)

I went out of my for you guys and got VRS exhaust to make us a catback system for the Ralliarts.

They offer them in stainless or aluminized steel.
They can do it with or without a resonator
You can pick from OBX, Borla, Magnaflow or Flowmaster mufflers.
They will give you the tip of your choice.
The let you decide what diameter piping (2.25", 2.5" or 3").

If you want a different muffler, let me know as they have a ralliart on the lift to fit it and I could go down for you if you throw me some gas bones =) Or, just get the system /wout a muffler and have it welded on locally.

I personally went with the Megan Racing Carbon/Titanium M-Spec II muffler. Sounds way better than the magnaflows and borlas, and even better than the $300 HKS in my opinion. I have a good hookup on these. They retail at $190 before shipping or tax, but I can get them directly from the Megan dealer (friend of mine) for $125.

Pricing:

Base price: $205 for 2.5" mandrle bent aluminized pipe
Add a Magnaflow resonator: $60, preinstalled
Upgrade to stainless steel: $50
Add a mufler: $80-$140 depending the muffler.
Sizing incraments: add $50 to go to 3" or subtract $50 to go to 2.25"

Note that these were the quotes I was given. Mine came out to be $311 /w 2.5" stainless and resonator. As I said, I brought my own muffler. Tell them what you want to get an exact price.

So you can a basic catback for $285 or the ultime system for $435 or anything in between. Considering Ultimate Racing sells a similar system for $663 and Ultimate Racing JUST dropped their price (i wonder why ) to $490, AND neither offer any flexability, this is a really good deal.

The piping comes in 2 pieces (cat to axle and axleback) and includes 7 bends.
ALL bends are heated mechanical mandrel bends. This is about as good as it gest as far as quality goes.
The cat to axle pipe comes dual flanged with all needed hardware and upgraded rear hanger.
The cat to axle pipe also has the o2 sensor bunb pre-installed.
The catback and muffler come with hangers pre-installed, flange and all hardware.
All welds are treated and coated to prevent rusting at the weld, which is a common mistake by lots of small local muffler shops.

I will be going down soon to help them develope a downpipe to go along with the kit. It should run about $180 - $250 depending on material and cat options.

As for performance, I will take it to the dyno when I get a chance (hopefully after the downpipe so i dont have to do it 2x!). I have noticed that the car pulls MUCH stronger after 3000 RPM. It feels as if it gets up there with much less effort, as well. When driving like I normally do, for the first week I would look down at my speedometer and and notice I was doing 100-110MPH and I though I was going 85 =) WOOPS! I did lose a bit of bottom end, but I couldnt even tell until I took it to the track. I usually get a good launch at 2500 RPM. Now I have to launch at 3000RPM. Thats the only way I noticed =) Considering you are usually only this low in your RPM range when driving like a grandma starting from a stop in 1st gear, this is VERY desierable.

Anyway, this product gets blk-majik's seal of approval, as its the most noticable power mod I have yet (CAI and piggy were good, but this is better ). The CAI and ECU helped make it what it is, so I still gotta give credit. If you want one, go to www.vrsexhaust.com or call 305-971-5844 and ask for Megel or Dan.

I have to commend your shop on a great job. I'm getting mine done next week and the mandrel pipe is already bent, so the tech will have to cut the bends and weld them together at the joints. labour intensive but can give a pretty cool look. He will also be using triangular flanges. All stainless of course. what part number is the 2.25 magnaflow resonator? once again, great job

im not sure what PN it is. they only carry a few. its the stainless one in 2.5" (obviously). the longer of the 2 they offer, i believe.

and why is the shop cutting the bends? sounds like extra work to me. unless hes hand-bending on an old school wheel and doing it in small sections.

it comes as a pre-bent section of madrel bent pipe. it has a straight section, a U shape section and two 45 deg. bends. The shop does not have a mandrel bender. they buy pre-bent sections and cut them to fit specific applications. like when custom shops build headers and stuff. same for this, if you look up madrel bent pipe you can find these pre bent sections for about $90 CDN
