Question Question about EVO CF Wing

It looks like I might be doing an even swap with my standard Ralliart wing for an EVO wing. I've got my fingers crossed. The wife dosen't like the idea, but she'll get over it. I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

Does anybody know if the mount holes for The Evo Wing mounts up with the mount posts for the Ralliart wing and vice versa. Or do some of them mount up. Or is it custom drilling time?

You will have to drill new holes. They don't match up.

Man, that sucks but its what I expected. I wonder how you're supposed to cover the holes up. This could be a pain.

Anybody else done this. Any advice?

I got a replica from eBay (plastic one with fake CF) ... and you have to drill 2 out of 4 new holes. The front one are exactly the same, but the rear one are different. BUT, under the trunk, you have the exact position where to drill your holes. Quite easy, you only have to do some mesurement.

i was gonna be a smart A$$ and was going to tell you to search for othe answer since it has been discussed to death....but there one thing for telling someone to search and just giving the wrong answer, jdizzy is wrong, OEM evo8 wings will bolt up to any of the 02+ lancer trunks without having to drill anynew holes

unless you didnt have holes to being with

anyone know if we need to drill holes for that one?

he says it fits on the 02 without drilling so should it fit the 04s?

Oh good, I hope I don't have to drill. Its going to get alot more complicated If I have to drill.

Thanks for the answers guys. I'd like some more input from others if possible to confirm Lookslikeanevo's post. Anybody got a EVO wing on a 04-05 model? I know the trunks are different.

I don't search because I hate digging up ancient dead posts. I know its been probably mentioned before but I like getting a fresh, live perspective, plus, more time has gone by and knowledge and number of lancers have increased so I might get a better answer.

now saying you dont search is just plain dumb, ancient dead posts have all the answeres in them, then you question what people tell you. my advice is to search!

IT IS INTERCHANGEABLE!, As longs AS its OEM(supplied by manufacturer) then you have nothing to worry about. if A=B, and B=C, then A=C, mmmkay?

A=02-03 lancer wing
B=Evo OEMwing
C=Ralliart wing

then only difference is that the 02-03 have a 3rd hole in the middle of the trunk for some reason, that is the only thing that nees to be shaved (for the evo to use the low wing)or covered for the lancer since using the RA or EVO eliminates the third post

I didn't mean to question your post. Obviously you have an evo wing on your 02-03 OZ. I've seen some Ralliarts with it on and just wanted to ask an owner for their opinion.

So far I've got 3 different answers to my question. One person says drill all new holes, one person says 2 out of 4 holes and a third person (you) says that its a standard fit for all. I believe you the most and I want what you say to be true, but I'm just looking for verification. If you had a Ralliart or newer lancer, the conversation would have ended with your post.

Just for kicks, I will do a search.

Everybody's got their pet peeves, yours is people who don't search. Mine is people who resurect posts that were dead months ago. I'm the main administrator for another board (not car related) and I systematically delete old posts when they get too old. I hate it when I go to reply to a post and find that it was started in september of '04.

BTW, thanks for posting the info, I didn't mean to seem ungrateful. Ironically the quote in your sig makes it seem like you would purposefully mislead me since I didn't search. I don't think thats the case here. I know its probably a joke.

Well, I gotta hand it to ya, you were right. I did a search and found a silver ralliart with an evo wing so I got some great pictures and a good side by side comparision that confirmed what you said was true. Its a straight bolt on which was what I was hoping for. I'll remember to search next time.
