Exclamation Process of Cleaning my Air Filter...?

Here it is, when it was cleaned and oil:

now, it's really really dirty, I don't even wanna attach a pic, its that bad. I think im loosing some power/fuel economy aswell. So how do I go about this? I don't wanna use water incase there is some left and BOOM, my engine goes bye bye... is there another process?

HKS probably sells a cleaning and oiling kit. Basically, to clean it, you'd rinse it with water thoroughly, dry it, then reoil it.

Even if you put it back in your car wet, it can't hold enough water to hydrolock your engine. You'd only send some mist in there, which wouldn't hurt your engine.

its all about the k&n easy to find jsut about any autp parts store will sell it. all you need is the cleaner and the oil to I guess pretect it. if you take car of these filters right they are supposed to last 100,000 they say.

but if they aren't reusible. that sucks and just get a diff companies filter

if it's a reusable filter, go to pep boys and get the cleaning/reoiling k&n kit. that's all you need. if it's not reusable, i wouldn't do it, 'cause the reusable ones are very porous and the oil is what traps the dirt, not the filter itself. as far as the hks...get a k&n. hks is worthless in my opinion.
