unless you have an evo than its every 5000. mitsu pays for all the expensive services you pay only the oil changes in between, which is dirt cheap
Just so it's clear cut. You're saying that the 7500 mile oil change is free and I(we) pay for the inbetween (I'm guessing the 3750mile oil change) oil change right? I just turned over 5k miles on my car and don't want to have to fight tooth and nail to get service that is not FREE, I bought a NEW car based on the warranty. I've grown tired of maintaining my used cars, it's a real pain to nickle-dime yourself to death fixing a used and abused car these days. While I'm impressed with Mits performance I WILL NOT get bent over playing the warranty game when I payed extra for it! You see a car loosed about $3,000 in value when you drive it off the lot, that's my warranty payment right there. If I tried to take the car back and trade it in how much would you give me for it? $13-14k for a car with 5k miles on it that I've driven for just under 4 months that had 1900 miles on it "new". I didn't get a demo discount either. I'm curious though on what the trade in value is on my 04, it does have the S&S package as well.

Thanks,

My maint manual states that the oil changes in between the regular scheduled maint is free. Oil only, the filter is not included.

I bought my leftover 04 Ralliart on Feb. 1. Several weeks later I received the Welcome to Mitsubishi packet. Inside were the roadside assistance cards, and the free service document. Mine has completely free service for 3 years or 45K miles, at 7K mile intervals. I would only be obligated to pay for in-between oil changes if I fall under the severe schedule. Which I don't.

you would only pay for inbetween oil changes, the others are free. you could wait for every free service buts thats is up to you. i change mine every 3000 but i kind of have a hook-up. but members that come to my dealer and see me they get a club discount anyway .

mitsu will never go down. are sales are going up every month. beside mitsubishi as a whole is a huge company, and the motor division is like a minute part of it. if you really think they would close down there motor division than you need a better grasp of reality.

Yeah some dealers are just asses, not all.

I had this little seam rip in the carpet on my floor so I brought it in and they said they'll replace the whole thing. I asked "cant you just sow it up or something" and he said "Its under warranty so you might aswell get it brand new".

It took hyundai about a decade to change its image . . . one of their car is JD Powers top 10 to the likes of Lexus and others.

A former hyundai CEO has taken over the Mitcu America. It's going to take a long while to iron things out.

As for going down, at worse, they'll close up shop in America but continue sales elsewhere. Right now, Mitsu is banking their effort to sell tons of 4g eclipses. I have not seen any new galants . . . they need to start targetting camrys, taurases (forgot the name of the replacement sedan for Ford), and accords.

kinda sad that you post the bad dealers. How about someone makes a post praising a dealer? Always lookin for someone to trash talk.

That said, I took my car in for 7500 mile service (which is just an oil change and I was under the impression it would be free) - wrong! Only the in-between oil changes are free. No biggie. I aslo told them about the hesitation at low RPM's coming out of 1st gear as well as the blown right front strut. I explained they need to examine the strut b/c its hard to duplicate the problem unless you hit a raised bump under acceleration.

Well, they test drove it and said the strut was fine - they did not examine it - strike one.
Last week I ran over an orange construction cone which left my wheel alignment mangled - the test driver didn't even notice/mention this at all - strike two.
The hesitation they claim was from a small piece of paper they found in my airbox - which makes sense. Only problem is, the stock air box is in a cardboard box in my garage on a shelf since I removed it when I installed my CAI - strike three.
Finally, the bill for the 7500 mile service: Oil, oil pan gasket, oil filter, BG fuel additive???, and 1 hour labor - $128.00

Suffice to say, I will NEVER go back for service again- even the free ones. The total ineptness is so rediculous I had to laugh to keep from crying.

it sucks that you have had problems with dealerships. personally, i can vouch for our dealership and all the ones ive delt with. Ive never had a problem. As long as your not being a jerk to the service manager or writer, they usually do what u need done. Expecially a car that is under warrenty. I dont see why they wouldnt replace a strut under warrenty. Its free money to them. Easy to do and they dont have to wait to get a ok from the owner. Of course, there are always going to be people out there that NO matter what a dealerhsip does, it just wont make them happy.
