As you may have read in some other threads - I crashed my RA in the rain the other night. No airbags deployed but I bounced around the highway like a ping-pong ball. GEICO has deemed it a total loss. 7500 miles, '04. They're cutting me a check for $17,117.13 after deductable ($500)
Before you break out the flame suits, I'm 30 years old and have not crashed a car seriously since I was 16. That said, the accident was my fault and no other cars were involved. Please check out for - sale thread if your interested in some mods.

I can't swing payments/insurance for an EVO. I may get another RA, unless I find something good used - for cheap. Not really sure right now.

glad your ok.

any chance they offered you a buy back on the car? I know a few guys are interested in a motor or some interior goodies.

Just a thought, but glad to hear all is well, it could be worse, much worse so be happy for that.

Thanks Del. Just some back and neck pain that's getting better. Could have been MUCH worse. They said I had to have all my personal items/plates off by Friday morning b/c it was going for salvage. I had custom leather interior but the adjuster said he factored that in to the price and if I give it to them w/o interior I'd take a big hit - so I'm leaving it. I'll remove the fr and rr strut bars and CAI if anybody wants them - otherwise I don't even want to be bothered. It hurts to look at the car - I'll just send my girl for the plates and stuff.

why not buy a used RA for like... $10k and drop the turbo in, and still have about $3k...

I'm gonna look. There not too easy to get used (except salvaged).

Ive been in your shoes before dude, a 241 HP turbocharged civic with a perfectly blueprinted block, totalled after running it into a tree at 100+ miles an hour. You walked away, I was in a coma for a week, so consider yourself lucky. Now my insurance is ungodly high, i have 29 pins in my knee, I cant drive manual now. Just consider yourself lucky thats all I have to say.
