Well. Got mine fully installed today. Is throwing a light. so thats wonderful. Maybe I have a sensor setting wrong or something? I sure hope so.

I really can't tell if its making much of a difference. I have no idea how to really tune it right. I may mess around with it if I go out driving later.

get a wideband o2 sensor. you can get a cheap mobile one to hook into your exhaust. ask some of ur tuner friends or if u know anyone that owns a shop, see if u can borrow one.

try to keep the afr at about 14:1 all the way through the powerband. if you look at my dyno (see my profile) you can see that, with the RRM piggy on 93 octane, i run at about 14 for the first 1500rpm or so, then get rich and run at about 12.5:1 the rest of the way. that should give you an idea of what to expect at the different RPM points. the idea is to keep that light straight on ur optimat a/f ratio.

you can tune the SAFC at 8 points, right? so ur total powerband (1000-7000) and divide by 8. so every 750 rpms or so, hold the throttle and take a reading from the wideband. adjust that point in the safc until ur at about 14:1. do that every 800 rpm above idle. idealy, you would dyno a peak point at different a/f ratios, first and find what makes the best power, and use that as ur target (14:1). i just assumed 14:1, since that works well in most similar engines. kudos on getting it to work, though!

i'm prob gonna get an emanage soon, as im pretty sure it can be rigged to handle ignition. dunno about injection tho. either way, it will do the part of the safc. so if anyone wants a used RRM piggy for a good price, lemme know in about a month =)

I picked mine up today. Took it to another shop to have it installed (reg mech was busy) and the guys told me it would not work, pure and simple. They basically refused to install it. I called my mech and he said it would work. Said he talked to APEXi and they said it "should" work, but that they had not personally installed one on a RA. I'm taking it in next Wed... I'll let you know what happens.

guyy si thoguht i told you all... emanage wont work you change ignition values and the computer will just learn around it in like 2 minutes !

afc only modifyes the MAS signal but so does the RRM unit so it could work if correct sensor settings were calibrated technically...

afc's are like 150 bucks so would be worht a try...

emanage will change duty cycle for your injectors however or let you add 2 aditional injectors

Thanks
Tory

emanage does fuel mapping, iginition timing is optional.. get your facts straight

i thin running 14 to 1 is really dangerous.. i tend to tune for 13 to 1 and at some points 12.5 to 1

Find a *really* reputable tuner in your area and go talk with them.
They will know what they can and cannot do, and how to tune it correctly.
I would rather pay some more money than have some kid work on my car who barely knows what hes doing bomb my car.

hey guys trust me the apexi unit will work, i put it on mines back in dec or jan i forget but same thing, they said it won't work but after i went to trenz they told me it would, they installed it. i knew it was working cause when i was messing around with the settings i was sucking up gas first off, than me messing with my map curves etc. and to really prove that it works, i put it on a dyno and the tuned it for me and i gain 10hp 12tq with the dyno sheet to prove it. so it works very much so and im happy with it.
