I've had this problem for about 2 weeks now, and it's gotten more noticeable since yesterday. Basically, the same clunking sound when I make a right turn, and this is on the driver's side. I also notice that it is noisier when I step on the brakes while turning.

I am headed to the dealer on Monday to sort this out. I got my car in July 2004, and it only has around 6850 miles. Hopefully, it something minor like the bushing.

UPDATE

I was at the dealer this morning. There was some rattling aside from the clunking sound, so they replaced the flex pipe just before the cat. The thing is, this is one piece with the cat, so now I have a new cat.

However, there is still that soft clunk coming from the front, and I think it really is (was) a bushing problem. Whether the "damage" to the flex pipe was a result of this one, I guess I'll never know now.

They also stripped the threads off the O2 sensor, so now I have no O2 sensor there and a CEL. It should be replaced when the order comes in.

My RA is an 04 with 6,865 miles on it just for reference.

BAH!

I had the same clunking noise coming from my drivers side front wheel, a mechanical metal nosie when I turn at slow speeds like when backing out. Just brought it into Mitsu last week. It ended being the tiebar and it got replaced, warranty covered.
However I did get into an accident involving that side, so I'm not positive its the same thing thats happening to everyone else.

make sure no bults in the engine fell off, That happen to my cousin (in his honda) <LOL @ HIM> any ways he hear clangin for quite a while when he turned but then his car finally started smoking like crazy so then he knew somethin was wrong. What happen was a nut fell of and hit a fast fan in the car. That was the clanging sound he was he was hearing. Finally the nut after a week rocketed off into the anti-freeze and blew a hole in it, from then on out it was not good times. Moral of the story: civics suck. (check for any missing bolts)

The dealer replaced the sway bar links on my car, and so far so good. They did both sides. I think these were basically bushings and the bolts.

I had this problem about 3 weeks after purchasing my RA. I took it for it's first 1500km service and told them there was a few problems.

I noticed that everytime I turned right (not left), there would be this sound like grinding of some sort...
...

After checking they found that (their words)...."there was a screw/nut/bolt that was not suppose to be there and that the dealers usually remove them before selling the car"..

All in all, perhaps a small screw/nut/bolt...
