Question Infinity Speakers

I am purchasing Infinity 6002i 6 1/2" Car Speakers tomorrow, I looked around and found that RA's come with 6 3/4. I don't have the s/s package. I just wanted to make sure what the mounting depth is so that the speaker doesnt get in the way with the window. I remember seeing 2.5" somewhere, but I could not find that posting. The Infinitys I'm getting are supposed to be 2 1/4" mounting depth.
If anyone knows the answer, please let me know b4 I purchase them. Thanks.

the mounting depth on those is 2 1/16". the stock non SSL speaker is actually a EURODIN speaker which is 7". you'll have to search to find a bracket that will keep the speakers from falling in since they (& 6 3/4's) are too small. i fabbed wood brackets & brought the speakers in a little so the windows would roll down. here's a pic:

So the mounting depth is 2 1/16? (unless you cut plastic and...). What if I were to get MB Quart 6.5" EKA116 6 1/2" Car Speakers, mounting depth on those are 1.9". as far as the adapter goes i will probably buy one or make one myself.

Thumbs up

if you make your own brackets then you control the mounting depth. i had to make 3/4" thick brackets since my 6 1/2's were 3" deep. then i had to trim the inside of the door panel to make room for the forward mount. if i remember, the stock speaker is about 1.75-2" deep. the mb quart would work perfect. i believe Boston Acoustics makes a shallow speaker as well. check www.crutchfield.com also. they may even have brackets you can use.

I wonder if Evos have different stock speakers than Ralliarts. 6 3/4" speakers fit perfectly in Ralliarts.

the evos get the same stock 6 speaker system as the lancer. some people have "made" speakers fit but i wanted it to mount like a stock bolt up. i even fabbed my brackets to the same shape as the stock speakers. whatever works for you is best.

When I say "fit perfectly" I don't mean they were made to fit. It means that they lined up perfectly with the factory holes and installed exactly like the factory speakers.
