Sounds like the best combo is a SRI with the RRM carbon fibre hood... drool!

I'm wondering, why do you get better throttle response in the low RPMs with the air box as opposed to the SRI? Isn't it about the same distance to the throttle body as opposed to the CAI? Is it the because the air is more focused *RAMMED* as opposed to collecting it all around?

Thanks.

I beleive it is because of the diameter of piping, and how the MAS reads the air flow. The stock tube is around 2.5" ID while the common aftermarket intakes are usually 3". Therefore the sensor doesnt get a truely accurate reading.
These are just my thoughts. I built my own intake, SRI and CAI, using 2.5" ID tubing, and felt very little, if any diffrence for throttle response.

By throttle response I mean the low-end torque from 1500 - 2500 RPM, not the lag that is created by the CAI. With the stock airbox all the torque would be very jerky if you didn't control the gas evenly, but I've noticed that's all gone now.

Diameter of stock tube it 2.75. We used 2.75 inch on RRM SRI to make sure of accurate readings. We are sure we did the right thing!

Ok, i have the sri, its basically the same exact thing as your intake, and i didnt recognize a thing. Im not calling you a liar by any means, but I think it is more in your head that you feel the power. Because thats what i tried to think when i put my sri on, and in all honesty, it felt the exact same as stock.

If you are looking for a better kick in your car you are not going to find it. The gains are very slight. It also depends on other things, i.e. temperature. Want a hugh gain, get a turbo.

I just installed my AEM CAI, and all i can say is wow!. It sounds pissed off when you give it wot, the car has better pickup and revs a little quicker. I will use my Gtech pro when the rain stops here. I also changed my gear oil to Royle Purple and the engagement feels smooth. I would recommend this intake to you guys if you have the cash.

Talking

I can feel a difference, my car had hardly any torque steer before, my car has torque steer now! I didn't think I would be able to feel an increase in power after I installed it, but to my surprise I did.
