Rhyzin was explaining this to me @ MOD....and the main reason is the type of gas we use here, and the type they use there....different additives, so out gas wouldnt run the GDI engine...

maybe mitsuralliart can explain why...

you have it the other way around. GDI - Gas Direct Injection. OUR system has the limitation of having fuel only when the intake valve opens because fuel is injected into the intake manifold before the intake valve. GDI injects fuel directly into the combustion chamber controlling both high AF ratios and knock.

It is way too bad that is an automatic, that is the largest downfall. I would even take our 5 speed over that. I would argue that our US RA is faster than this car, the automatic and the heavier weight from the turbo and piping would make it weigh more. A turbo is sweet, but it will reallty turn my head when Mitsubishi bolts a turbo onto the 2.4....then we will be in SRT-4 terrirtory, which still wont' make it an EVO. Although I doubt MItsubishi has the availability to do that. If the 4G eclipse work out for them it could really send new finances into MItsubishi.
