Not sure if the ralliart is the same..

If using standard horns, you'll need to replace both. There's 2, each at a slightly different freq to create that warble sound (high freq, you may not recognize it unless 1 is disconnected). 1 is near radiator, 1 (for evos) is low, under the headlight. Front bumper needs to be removed for that one. Or, you could leave the stockers alone and add another pair, but then you'll need a relay, otherwise you MAY blow your horn fuse, or overload, or see lights dimming when using them. I used to add FIAM (same co makes ferrari horns) triple-trumpet air horns. 137 db? And very unique sound, so you'll get the attention of the idiot changing lanes while on the phone and listening to stereo. But they can get dirt in them and they take up space. Recently got the hella supertone horns. Not as loud or uniqe as the fiams, but they're small, easy to replace (i didnt do it) and decently loud. Also can get wet and dirty and no ill effects.

I saw some horns that looked like turbo's once. Pretty funny looking.

 

But which ones can you order that just sound like a REAL horn? I don't need to blow anyone off the road but I sure am sick of no real horn. I understand replacement is easy and my front clip is comin' off Thursday night. What part #s from the local parts store or reasonable shipping vendor can I get ordered?

I bought the Hella Horns... haven't installed them yet, but they look pretty bad ***. I just got my car fixed and i'm afriad to take off the front bumper.. haha

With the Hella's i have to wire it up to a ground as well.

 

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I still have to see what RA owners have done to put in those Hella Supertone horns. I have a Bosch Supertone (the bottom one) that I bought overseas earlier this year that I still have to install. They are big, loud, and have a very nice sound.

Only place I can potentially put them is behind the bumper. I will also need to use a relay and maybe a switch to toggle between stock and these. The stock location is not suitable as the manufacturer recommends putting them in a spot that does not come directly in contact with water (rust reasons I would think).

 

My dad had a pickup with its standard horn, a truck air horn, an 'aaahoooga' horn, a wolf whistle and a bermuda bell.

The 60's was a wierd time.

 

you'll have to run a relay or something, basically they stock horn has a fuse that isn't powerful enough to handle the aftermarket horn (i blew a fuse once, and i'm at like 20A right now on the Hella's). I had to run a separate ground for both horns (high and low) to the frame, and then plug the stock power cables up to it unless you want thicker wire... i don't see the need. But i'm happy with my horn, much louder, even though i didn't run a relay... If i ran a relay they would be much louder but i just haven't the time to do so.

 

Where did you put yours, stock location? How heavy are the Hellas?
