hey guys i have noticed that my engine makes a wierd clunk sound when i accelerate...(it sounds like when u try to accelerate but from a high gear low rpm kinda clunk).....but the thing is i'am not on a high gear and i give it enuff gas before i start letting go of the clutch......btw i have 30k on it

 

that`s funny i have the same sorta noise, when accelerating and changing gears, i get a light clunk or ping as if the engine was not reving high enough and sounds like a piston rod that`s loose, but i only here it when i rev hard, wont here it under normal city driving.........weird

ya well i hear mine in city driving when its at low speeds....everytime i accelerate it makes that knock for couple of secs then its normal.....should i be worried?

wow already?......its only 30k and the mount is givin up ?.....and no its not from the body of the car its a knocking sound from the engine

Well, take into consideration that this is only speculation at this point.


But if it's a mount, it would not be normal wear for sure. The mount would have to have been manufactured with a defect for it to fail this early. For example, if a bubble formed during the pouring of the bushing's filler.

No manufacturing process is perfect...

ya true......well i will check it out the next time i go for my oil change

 

i`ll tell you one thing in my case it`s not the egine mounts, it really is the motor, i brought in the shop where i work and the mecanic that looked at it agreed with me he seems to think it`s a loose crankshaft type noise, or loose lifter rattle, either way i`m gonna have it looked at by the dealer.

Well, that's nothing to reassure anybody then! I can't wait for you to tell us what it was... I hope they won't tell you their crappy story about that elusive "normal wear noise". My Integra had some kind of valve noise, but much louder than any others of the same year model. In the end, they couldn't put their finger on the problem... so they attributed it to "normal wear"... The good thing is: it never had any adverse effet during the time I had the car. A nice CAI covered the strange sound to perfection though...

ya that sound is very annoying makes my car seems so old or something...its the type of engine knocking you would expect from an old beat up motor

 

i have a 05 evo with 20800miles and for over 3000 miles i have some kind of werid sound. in the motor becasue when let off the gas i hear a click. and when i have 4k rpm and little gas i can hear it and when i go in the 6500 and 7000rpm i hear it going really fast so i know its somthing in there. and i dont know what is it. and people say its nothing. but i know its not normal and i went in a friend evo and didnt hear it at all. can it be air filter durty, sprack plugs. i mean just thorwing things out there.
