go turbo or go srt-4?
if u want easy mods = RA
if u want better handling = RA
if u want an inexpensice fast car = srt4
If i had to consider any of the two i would seriousely pass on both and get a wrx
it'll out do both cars with little mods

I'll say it for the hundreth time...SRT's out handle RA's.
You guys just run your mouths without ANY proof except for blaming it on the tires. Stop making lame *** excuses. Take it like men.

/\/\ Those numbers are so close to each other, its pathetic. 1.5 mph diffrence??? Can you even honestly say those numbers prove anything other then the fact that the 2 cars are almost exactly the same. Keep in mind you dropped 3-5k more then us for your car. Obviously your braking is going to be better, your braking system is superior... hands down.
3k-5k extra dumped into an RA... to make the $$ the same, the SRT-4 is toast.... honestly. Hell, $1000 into an RA for tires and acouple suspension upgrades, and the scales would be tipped our way.
To compare the two cars, you have to compare $ for $, something you refuse to do. You keep talking stock for stock, but it doesnt work for 2 cars with such a large price diffrence.

We're talking stock for stock. Not stock for stock+$1000 upgrades. That's just stupid.
It was stated here that the RA handled better than SRT and that is NOT THE CASE. Of course I know our cars are a little more expensive and will have better parts but you guys could care less. You still think in your minds that the RA is better but its not.
Power wise, even if you turboed it, the longevity of the motor is bye-bye. You can't compare longevity to a motor that wasn't meant for boost to a motor that was built for boost...a LOT of boost.
This has gotten way out of hand. We have been arguing with this guy since this morning. Its like arguing with a little kid about there being no such thing as Santa. I feel that we shouldnt even respond to him. Acually, to tell you the truth he should be booted off of this forum. He doesnt even own a lancer and he is just here to cause trouble. He has no business here.

This whole thread "is stupid" because people are comparing 2 diffrently priced vehicles. I think its fair to say that the RA and the SRT-4 are basically identical in the handling department... with a SLIGHT edge to the SRT-4. But I will go back to my original arguement, $400 into tires, and things are atleast even between the two cars.
Regarding power, you cant say what the longevity of our motor would be turboed long term... the motor has only been around for about 2 years. Now you are spouting things with no foundation. I understand that it may not have been designed with a turbo, but remember Mitsu's back ground, turbo's in strong motors. You honestly think they would build a weak motor now? And remember who's turbo is in your car....
Thats a good point, Dodge is affiliated with Mitsubishi. Look at the Eagle Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse, same exact car. I forgot about that, the turbo on the SRT4 is made by Mitsubishi.

First, funny how you claim that since the motor has been out for only 2 yrs, we don't know about the longevity. Well so has the SRT motor but you all seem to think that it won't last long as well. Right back at ya.
Second, do you honestly believe that the Mitsu engineers over built your motor to handle forced induction just in case you wanted to upgrade? YEAH RIIIIIIIGHT... Your motor was not intended for turbo regardless of Mitsu's back ground in turbos. Sure it can take boost but don't think you haven't shortened its life in half by doing so.
Unlike the normally aspirated 2.4 liter motor, the turboed srt version has extensive upgrades to accomodate boost and to produce it long term reliably.

So the car comes with a Mitsu turbo, so what. Its a great turbo. You can't knock us for digging in the parts bin. I mean we do OWN Mitsu.

Woaw... binladodge (uh, sorry... evo77) is still at it! The guy is going for a marathon thread, proving to the world he's an idiot (you'd think it's not such a difficult thing though... already done in the first two posts). Maybe we can donate to have him given a life and all... and maybe a decent car too. I'll check back in the morning, still laughing at some of his posts/claims so...
Night peeps!

Ummm.. actually sp0rk, the guy who started the thread, was asking about comparing the SRT-4 with the ACR package w/ BOV versus putting a turbo on the RalliArt.
As such, we are not comparing stock for stock.
Stock for stock the SRT-4, unquestionably, will beat the Lancer RalliArt in all performance categories.
Based on Edmunds.com TVM pricing, the SRT-4 is about $2,600 more expensive.
Therefore, that amount could theoretically be reinvested into mods for the RalliArt. How much performance you can actually buy for that amount...
Suffice to say, this topic will never end since we will be comparing factory spec from the SRT-4 to estimated specs that will vary from dyno to dyno (not to mention temp, elevation, gas, etc...)
In conclusion, sp0rk will have choose wether he wants to tinker with the RalliArt and take a chance on tuning the RalliArt right and have something fast (hopefully) and unique or just go factory spec with a warranty...

Second, I never said anything about the logevity of your motor. Right back at you.
Third, I was offered at my dealership a factory turbo kit for the RA, warrenty attached. Yes... 10 years. I dont think they would offer it, if it would blow up the motor in any amount of time.
Fourth, "WE?" own Mitsu? I doubt you have anything to do ownership in Daimler-chrysler. Please dont try to pump yourself up here.

I'm glad your getting some laughs out of all this. Especially since I made you look like a tard with your spring problem. So what did the dealer say? Is it still under warranty?
But before mommy tucks you in for bed, can you do me just one favor and humor me again with one more idiotic post? Maybe even come up with some of your clever name calling? Or how about another post where you actually think your lancer handles better? Come on...just for shiats and giggles....waddaya say?
