Yeah, I was really surprised too... I wonder if spOrk didn't stumble on an overzealous cop though.

Yeah all these laws are getting to be rediculus interms of tuning your car. Just like you can't have any neon light on the car (not my taste but some people like that) or a flashy mp3 deck. My cousin got pulled over and the cop gave him a ticket because he said his deck was too distracting cause he had a little animation going. Like wtf??? But then you see all these huge LED billboards that can freakin blind you if you look straight at them.

PLEASE grant us that pleasure.

I wouldn't think 40 HP and 30 tq are minimal.
Suspension is stiffer and has a better rear sway.
MIVEC.
EBD (possibly ABS)
4 Wheel power assisted disc brakes

Skid pad numbers are bad for the RA due to tires only.

Why would you group me in with SRT-4 haters. I'm trying to help your cause and your knocking me? Your a waste of time if you keep this attitude.

Alright, since this thread is officially out of hand:

"...I think my boyfriend might be gay...I wasn't sure until recently, when he was deciding between a Dodge Neon SRT4 and a Mazda Miata..."

^^^ OMG, :throws up:

SRT4 owners, stop crying in the ralliart forum... this thread is over, let's just end it. You will not prove anything on a board, your outnumber... so just leave it at that.

what????

Find me a car under 22K that can outrun the SRT-4 in the 1/4...or hell find me one 4 cylinder under 22K with more than 230hp to the wheels

i'd consider that a "best buy" in that price range

An SRT isn't as expensive as an Evo, nor nearly an inexpensive as an RA.

I still cant get past the looks. Whether its faster, handles better or not, whatever, the bottom line FOR ME, is that the RA is way easier on the eyes then ANY NEON... base or SRT-4. I assume you feel diffrent, at least I hope you would, you payed good money for it. For me, the looks of the Lancer, and the available upgrades, make it more worth the money in my eyes... among others (by the size of the members list here).
I geuss I figure that I could buy an RA at the current prices, around $18,000 - $19,000... and put $3000 to $4000 into it (so that the total cost is the same as an SRT-4... see above) and have an as fast, as good or better handling, and a much better looking (in my eyes again) ride. So, dollar for dollar, it really comes down to looks. Who wins? You be the judge.

Agreed. The hood intake looks like a Rav4, the spoiler always looks stuck on and aftermarket, and even if you stick 22" wheels on, the bug-eyed econobox headlights of a Neon stare at you. It's like if Chevrolet made a 1992 Corsica SS - it's still that, a Corsica.

Go ahead and try to embarass me. See what you can dig up regarding "unmodded engines blowing up". LMAO!!! Was this like one case or two? Don't act like this has happened to hundreds.

And while I'm at it, shall I dig up all the issues with Lancers?
Dude, CHILL OUT man. Your acting like someone is callin your mom fat and your girl an ugly hoe. The dude asked for oppinions and hes getting them. Oppinions on the good and the bad of BOTH cars. Its not a "debate and attack the SRT-4" thread. Your being an *** and you need to cool it.

How many Mustang "Cobras" do you see?

"SS" Camaros?

I could go on all day...
Dude. . . . thank you.

Exclamation

The SRT4 can not outhandle the potenza equipped ralliart. Mitsubishi swapped out the potenza for eagle RSA to save like $30 on tires. The potenzas tires made the ralliart .4 of second faster to 60mph. Im SURE they made the ralliart handle much better the SRT4.

I got eagle RSA's, but a stock SRT4 is not gonna out handle the ralliarts that came equipped with the potenza rubber.

Now again, you are faster in a straight line, but I rather have a car thats slow but will last me thousands of miles, than a car that is faster and breaks down early. SRT4 will have its fun to 40-50k miles, than no more fun. While ill be slower... but ill still be running around after 50k+ miles
