The tricky part is the foot coordination and learning how to blip the throttle just right to match the revs. I'm still trying to master it.

Double clutching was useful at a point. Most truckdrivers do this because bigger trucks don't always have synchros to help match up gears so they need to double clutch to help match correctly. Most modern cars have synchros and i've read from several professional magazine sources, that its mostly unncessesary in todays modern cars. That and I have damaged my car to the tune of $500 by double clutching. Don't do it if you have a hydraulic clutch. Double clutching puts twice as much strain on your hydraulic clutch system and it will blow out your master clutch cylander. I've got a repair bill to back me up.

I heel toe when necessary. Very useful and your synchros will love you for it.
An EVO owner (SmokedMustang) on the boards let me drive his car recently, and I was heel-toeing the crap out of it. I must say he was pretty impressed.
FYI -- If anyone watches NASCAR, they showed a camera shot of Boris Said heel-toeing at the first road coarse race this year......very cool to see in action. They are in Watkins-Glen this weekend, so there may be another cool camera shot like this sometime in the race.
