Yes, there is a TSB for the throw out bearing, came out in late 04. My flex pipe is making that rattling noise as well, is it worth getting it replaced, it's not very loud, and as long as it's not decreasing performance I can live with it.

 

Please describe the noise in the flex pipe. I think my wifes car is doing this.

 

If I tap on the exhaust pipe just after the flex pipe under the car it makes like a metal rattling sound, like there are loose pieces of metal rattling against each other.

 

my stock throwout bearing started rattling@ 8000 miles the dealership said that the throwout is not covered as it is a wear and tear item.

 

BS. The clutch disc/pp/flywheel are wear items. It would be like them telling you your wheel bearings are wear items. Granted they wear but not after 9k miles. Find a new dealer or call Corporate Mits. You need them to deny your warranty claim first though.

 

I got my thow-out changed under warranty... and I don't know if it's just me but when I got the flex pipe changed it felt like it was running better...
