Lancer Ralliart as a first car?
Thank you all for input. I am still leaning toward in getting a RA, but maybe an OZ won't be that bad after all. I can save a few thousand bucks and maybe when I get better with it, I can move on with an EVO or something.

Mine actually keeps dropping. When I bought the car, it was $166 /month or so, then it dropped to $132, now it's $117. It still sounds high to me, but I'm used to my old cars, which I paid for and only had liability on. Gotta have full coverage on a car you're still paying for.
if you can afford a new car, then buying a used car is a waste of money cause you end up spending too much money and time repairing it. all the time wasted and money put in you would have been like 1/3 closer to buying thing a new car, like quote on page 3 (Rubez4o1k) spent 10k on repairs.
My first car was a used honda civic 91.... I never paid a dime besides oil changes and other maintenace nothing serious. It all depends on the used cars condition and if you luck out or not and how you drive. Not every used car will be a lemon and cost thousands of dollars to run.
I've always bought used. I mod the cars so it's a waste to buy new. Never had any problems. I think most discussions on buying new vs used will come to the conclusion that buying used saves money. Alot of the time you can buy a used car that still has a warranty
it depends whenever you want to modify the car or do not. If you want to stay stock, then the obvious answer would be a new car, and have the complete warranty for you. If you're planning on modding the car, then the choice between a new or used car do not matter since you will spend money on it, and if it has warranty, probably will void with the changes you do.
Let's see....when I was 19, I had realistic expectations that I could not afford a new car....but alas, I am part of the working lower middle class like my parents, so they bought me absolutely nothing.
My experiences with used cars helped me learn about cars and the costs of owning them.....and helped me when the time came to look for new ones. Not to say all the experiences were positive, but overall I am more careful with my cars if that makes any sense.
I say go used to begin with.....less insurance, less payment, the car has "character" and you can learn about it if you need to fix something.
Cars I have had:
1977 Chevy Impala (the learning car....more like a boat)
1972 Chevy Nova (with a wimpy straight 6)
1991 Geo Prizm (with no A/C....great in the summer!)
1994 Ford Probe (first 5 speed...wimpy 4 banger)
1995 Nissan Sentra (loaner car that ate 5 quarts of oil weekly after the Probe threw a rod)
2002 Mitsu Eclipse GT 5 spd (FIRST BRAND NEW CAR!!!)
2004 Mitsu RA 5 spd (Need 4 doors when you have a baby!)
