I was thinking about the RoadRace Progress spring kit, the TEIN coilovers are just a bit too pricey right now. is there something in between? also, with the spring kit, is camber enough of an issue to require a camber kit? the last thing i want is to eat my tires up.

So, an axleback would simply be for sound, no real performance gains? i can't really do the downpipe mod, unless I come up with a CEL eliminator, have to be tested annually here. plus i don't really want to stare at that light either.

Camber is not an issue with the Progress springs. The drop is also minimal enough to not affect your strut life too much.

There's an easy CEL fix for the downpipe that works.

I did this fix at 6,000 miles. I'm now at 18k miles and no CEL yet.

you could always just take the bulb out of the cluster for the CEL. My brother did it on his OZ

yeah, but as a former emissions inspector in GA, i know that won't pass. two reasons: GA does a CEL function check at KOEO, and when they connect the OBDII scanner to the car it'll also pull the trouble code.

For my....go first for the Progress Sway bar/perches...(it is a mod that you can "feel" right away after install)....then you can go for the CAI or a Works/K&N high flow filter (I got the K&N). After that change your oil to syntetic and get better tire/wheels. Also the short shifter kit is a must for the 5spd if you have one.

My take on it:

1- Quality tires

2- Joe's EVO 8 pulley (standalone mod, instant gratification )

3- Intake

4- Exhaust

5- Lower tie bar and then the rest...

6- Piggyback ECU

TIRES! Our stock ones are crap... Even if you want to keep your stock rims and not spend the $$$ on a/m rims, get new tires!!!

Thumbs up Your right of course...

I stand corrected... your right on tires having to come first. I tend to forget about that... I bought the Pirelli's with the car. I must say that lately it makes an even greater difference since I found the best pressures for them (35 front and 33 rear for me).

What kind of things are you looking for? SRI is a good cheap first mod. If you want something really noticeable, get RRM/Progress's rear sway bar and perches. They tighten up the back end A LOT. Easy to install too.

so it looks like the plan will be:

#1 rear sway bar and perches from RRM

#2 Injen CAI/SRI combo intake.

#3 3" exhaust with at least a 6" tip, gotta have the flow and sound!

#4 Stickers

#5 neon

ok, so the last three are jokes...

I don't want to buy tires right now, i just can't stomach ditching four tires with good tread... maybe when these wear out

I feel the same way about ditching new tires. I want use the stock tires as a winter set and get some high performance summer tires but I have nowhere to store them. Oh well winter's coming up anyway.

the original stock tires that come on the car are not a good choice for winter tires. It took me one day of driving on them in the winter to decide I needed an actual winter tire. Spend money on proper tires or you'll end up spending more money fixing your car when it slides into things.
