Question Tein S-tech lowering springs

Whats up everybody?

I got my springs installed, they make the car look great.

But there is one big problem. I braught my car to the dealer for a oil change, the guy at the dealer saw my springs and saw something funny. He grabbed the spring on one side and he was able to twist the spring around the shock. He told me its extremly dangerous. I need to get new shocks because the springs are too low for the stock shocks and they dont hold the spring down properly because you cant screw the top plate any more.

Now my question is does anybody with RA have these springs? did you change the shocks? Is this normal and is it true what the guy is saying?

Hope somebody can help me out
thanks
peter

That is correct, when on a lift you will be able to move the springs around like he was doing. If your struts go out you will see either A) oil coming out of the strut or B) a big oil spot right under you tire in the driveway or C) both. This guy probably voided the warrenty on your suspension. These guys get money for that, if you guys didnt know. I guess he was suggesting that you get shocks that are meant for lowering your car (there arent any made for are cars yet)

The stock struts are designed to work with a slightly larger spring, so when the load is off the suspension, the struts will extend further than the lowered springs. To my knowledge, there aren't any aftermarket struts for our car yet, so the only way around this problem is to get coilovers.

I don't know if you're in any danger, though. Many people run these springs without issue. Tein would be better suited to answer that.

i have close to 20,000mi on my Tein SS springs and no problem...yes on a lift i can grab them and turn them (thats how i clean them for car shows) im just picky and hate dirty cars! is easier to turn the front ones the rear ones will turn if you have a good grip and strength...
