The SRT-4 as we know it which is based on the Neon platform is not longer made. While there are rumors about the new model specs or name, it will use the world engine and share the new Evo X platform, or part of it.

But the fact is if Mitsu wants to stay competitive with the new breed of cars with 200+hp, they will need to (1) enhance the mivec on the current 4g69, (2) add a bigger motor, or (3) add a turbo or supercharger.

I'd hope for the turbo. With any luck we might be able to retrofit to our cars. Even an engine swap isn't that big a deal if your putting in the same basic engine. You might even get smog to ok it.

The one thing for sure is that Mitsu and Chrysler seem to be willing to work together again, and we're going to see a lot of changes (for the better, I hope) in the next 2-4 years.
Actually i find it kind of sad that Mitsubishi is still willing to help chrysler after chrysler basically brushed them off when mitsu really needed them. i think when mitsu gets back on its feet they should become independant again and create their own sub company like acura, lexus, or infiniti. chrysler is going to be stealing the evo platform that belongs to mitsubishi. i think chrsyler is only milking mitsu for all its got.
