Random B1tching about our aftermarket companies
prices are high because they're aren't many RA and even less mod. the RA needs more exposure, and more people buying mods. if u just sit around complaining about prices not modding your car u will get no where. when no one buys stuff companies stop making stuff. Bushcur discontinued making lancer stuff because no one bought their stuff. thats one less option for lancers. same could happen for the RA. don't complain, do something about it. get groups of people who want parts and companies will make them if u demand with enough people. most people say 'i want this new part' but they can't back it up w/ $$$. buy another car that is more trendy/popular aftermarket than the RA, or do something to get more companies interested in the RA. it doesn't matter if u are buying parts are making custom stuff. the more modded RA the mod interest in aftermarket stuff. if u have to worry about a house payment/bills/kids/wife i think those should be higher up on your priority list. u don't have to mod your car, it's a priviledge and u can live with out it. you gotta pay to play. no ones gonna give u free lunch. go complain about the cost of rent/living/gas/food/taxes before you complain about the price of a hobby.
leave the modding to us kids w/o responsibilities who can afford to pay to play

I haven't seen a Lancer ad, ever. Let alone a Ralliart add. The dealer didn't even try to push one on me when I bought an ES, he tried to sell me the ES on its family hauling capabilities(I was 20 at the time). They aren't advertised to be moddified cars unfortunately. If mitsu did something like Scion maybe there would be more RA's and more parts out there.
I say if we want parts we do like what you said or how the pulley group buys went, that was pretty damn successful. Get 50+ people that want one part and maybe more companies will follow?

The reason that I said the new eclipse GS shall be our salvation, is that when I went there, they couldn't keep them in stock, they have blown away at least the local sales expectation. The one I got was the ONLY GS in maryland with an automatic. They said at first the GT was the hot model but now the GS flys out the door.
It will help us because.
A. It exists. And now is a second car on the market with a 2.4L mivec engine in it.
B. No doubt, Eclipses will outsell Ralliarts and soon. With that many more eclipses out there and being a very sporty looking car, I have no doubt that the tuner market will follow suit. While they're at it and making performace parts for that engine, aftermarket companies might utilize the research time and make parts for the ralliart.
It aint gonna hurt us, it can only help having more 2.4L Mivec cars out there. So maybe salvation is too strong of a word but it will make more parts available.

The only lancer to have a good aftermarket explosion really was the 2002-2003 Lancer ES/LS/OZ. When they changed the body style, the ability for pieces to fit int he new body style was nonexistant. I own a ES with the same body style as the Ralliart and I find it hard to mod my car.
As for the advertisement of our cars, i Have not seen one ad for any lancer after the 2003 model. If anyone can prove me wrong, Please do.

Well there was that very weird TV commercial where a couple in their 30's showed up by accident at a street racing venue in their RalliArt... The shots where nice, but I'm still not sure who they thought this particular commercial was gonna reach.

Strange, probibly both. An older crowd to show the car is nice for a family and a younger crowd with the street racing... It doesn't work though.
