another Spec-V goes down and a new Personal Best!!!

well tonight went ok at the drag strip. they had bracket racing tonight and all who wanted to grudge race it was free. so i met a guy in a 2002 spec-v with a nismo cai and he wanted to run. so we line up and i'm thinking i'm going to get eaten alive but guess what, the RA held its own. I pulled him off the line and just kept pulling away. Plus I ran a new best of 16.0!!!! I think he ran a 16.3 or crappier.

Then later on in the night they had to shut down a lane cause somebody blew their engine and it was all over that lane. I ran another 16.0 with a 2.4 60ft. unfortunately that's all the info I have on my times. The printer didn't give me any time slips due to probably the ****tiest 1320 drag strip to ever be made.

Keep in mind that I'm currently stationed here on Guam so our 1320 times are about .5 secs off from the states. the humidity is extrememly high plus there was a strong head wind. But i don't think i did too bad at all considering a 2.4 60ft. on a completely unprepped track. No VHT or anything. Just pavement and my stock eagle rs-a's. lol. I still think there is 15sec run capable in this car as it sits stock. i just need to figure out where to shift at when i go to the next gear. Anyone have any comments on what rpm to shift at??????? i was redlining in 1st gear and then shifting at like 6100/6200 rpms into 3rd and 4th.

But at least i got a spec-v kill under the belt!!!! keep in mind my car is BONE Stock with only 1500 miles on it and i've had it for like 3 months. questions and comments are welcome. i'll have the 2 vids of me posted up tomorrow.

Good job. I went to the track for the first time last night too. I ran 15.8 with a 2.38 60ft. my car needs its 30k mile maintenance and I'm on worn out stock bridgstones. I launched at 3000 RPM's and I got a lot of wheel spin and I shifted just before redline.

not to put you down or anything but i used to own a spec-v and the guy who was driving that car definatley does not now how to drive or did something wrong. A spec will beat a RA and if you ran a 16.0 any stock spec would proabably beat you

Nice vids.

The more often you run the better your 60's will get.
You've definitely got a 15sec run in there stock.

that may be true, but a kill is a kill. hell, it would be the same thing if he whooped an evo at the strip cause the driver didn't know how to drive a stick LOL, but it still counts

I say congrats man

That's not necessarily true.

I think stock for stock the Spec V's are close with the Ralliarts. The Spec V's I have run with my OZ ran in the mid to low 15's with CAI. The only Ralliart I have run ran a 15.5 basically bone stock and a 15.7 missing a 3rd gear shift.

Forgot to add that yes the Spec V driver did get a poor launch with all that wheelspin but that comes with the territory.

Well thats what im saying a win is a win...if you race someone and they claim they missed a gear, blah, blah...they still lost. But what i was saying was that a stock spec would def run better than a 16.0
