Ralliart Shifter getting stiff!

Has anyone here had trouble with the shifter in the Ralliart, mine seems to have stiffend up a little, not sure why yet, i'm gonna look into it, but i thought it was the royal purple that i put in, but then i talked to a Trans specialist and he said the fluid will have no effect on the shifting, more than likely a bushing or cable issue.......i'm a little confused, but i'm sure i will ge to the bottom of it. If any of you guys have had this symptom let me know, Thanks!!

how many miles do you have on it? mine was pretty stiff feeling untill 4k. then it started getting real smooth, and more prescise. my reverse has been acting funnny though. when i put it in reverse sometimes it doesnt go all teh way in no matter how hard you push it back. i have to put it in first and then go back sometimes to make it work.

Lube up the bushings under the hood and the pivots on the shifter. There might be a way to lube the cables themselves, too, but might need a special (silicone based?) lube.

^^^^Yup, exact same problem with mine. I don't think it is terribly bad, but just annoying. I only have 17k on my car! O well...

I noticed that after installing the Kartboy underhood bushings and applying the lube they supplied, the stiffness slowly and steadily increased over time... do you guys happen to know what type of lube that is or what else will suffice?

That's alright... us late-night posters need some form of entertainment to stay awake.

I think that was the first time anybody on these boards has caused me to physically laugh out loud. When we meet up, I'll buy you lunch for that one.

....Still laughing aloud

I had this happen. I was driving across the country noticed the shifting was getting tight, three days in I could barely put the car in reverse. Brought it to the dealer, dealer said it was the short shifter. I told them it had to do with the bushings, sure enough when they got in there the factory bushing had some corrosion all over them making it nearly impossible to shift. Covered under warranty, bushings need to come out, cleaned and re-lubed.
