ticking at idle is normal, just the type of lifter used.....just over 18k here, no problems (knock on wood).

4,000 miles on my 2004... Uhh.. mine really really likes to consume fuel... like 60 miles on a 1/4 tank.. And i didnt do any spirited driving at all.. wierd thing is the motor runs fine even though its drinking more gas than i think it should... the best milage i've gotten is like.. 20 mpg if i'm lucky

i'm thinking of taking my car to the dealer to see if there is a problem with my ECU, MAF, Fuel System or anything like that.. cuz there shouldnt be a reason why i'm getting 20 MPG

IIRC we have a 13 gallon tank and the gas light comes on with approx 3 gallons left of fuel in it. So although you think you are just eating up gas like crazy, you are still getting approx 24 mpg. Just a small tank. When I do fill up the tank (here in Utah) it's still a hair under $30.00, which these days is pretty damned cheap for a full tank of gas. Small tank sux but I'm not too bothered by it, however I thought the same thing about my RA having something wrong with the fuel efficiency at first.

shift before mivec. many of us here on the boards easily get 28-30mpg. Measure by how much fuel it takes to fill your tank, don't guess with the gas light. say you put 12 gallons in. reset the trip meter. next time you fill up, take how many gallons it takes to re-fill and do the math with the trip meter. 17-20mpg is a very heavy foot, or something wrong with the car.

back on topic, 21k miles roughly. No problems except for the car being in storage for the winter.. still rocking the parking lot drifts in the awd impreza, but damn i miss my RA..

43k, no problems. Just had it looked at by mitsu during my oil change and they said the car's perfect. I do burn up some gas as well, but thats probably from me having a lead foot. Oh well, its fun.

I'll hit 57k on my way home from work tonight. No motor problems at all. I'm almost due for the first timing belt change, and the second valve lash adjustment. I checked the last time I changed my oil, and my car's using less than 1/2 quart of oil in 5000 miles.

I usually get about 25-26 mpg, but I've gotten as high as 31.5 mpg by keeping off the gas.

I get about 325KMS per 40 liters of fuel. 90% city driving.

And I have almost 40,000kms no engine problems, lots of suspension noise though, but it rides great, so I havent had it inspected yet.
