I have a question for those who have injen cai... I just installed mine... and when i get near my red line... i hear a sort of loud shhhh almost like a turbo charging up... just wondering if it's normal or i should check it out...

 

I think it's normal? It's the air pressure building up and letting go. I know a few people with lancers that have this sound, it comes from the air filter from what I know. I dont have the best knowledge but I'm positive that its normal!

 

That's the sound of your car sucking in tons upon tons of air. It's normal.

 

"it's a red line warning" Not really but it is loud as hell with my DP and intake going at the same time.

 

thx guys for the response! i was a litle woried but now i'm fine and I wont be scared to bring it to red line and beat *** on the pavement!

i have the injen intake, sounds mad good huh? push it all the way up to 6800 and youll really smile.

I dont have an Injen CAI but I have an RRM CAI and yes that souds get the adrenaline pumping

 

Mine came on the car when I bought it! I was so happy I priced it out for when I get the car and it was already there!!! Now can anyone tell me how much horse they add exactly at the wheeles? and yes the sound is very Sick!!! roll down the the windows in a tunnel then listen!!!

Well, I don't know about you guys but I personally couldn't stand that sound. It almost sounded as if the motor was going to blow up. I was really glad that injen made it so that you can pull it apart and make it a short ram. You don't get that loud sound around redline with the SR. Now with all of that said, I kind of miss that loud yell at the end so I think I'm going to put my cold air extension back on!
