i'd suggest you get some more facts on the kit before buying it, like the lack of torque, and the FACT that the turbo ra has so much more potiential, but it's your money and your opinion ....i doubt you'll get to many if any vids of the supercharger kit in action ...there is a reason for that................

He's stating lack in torque as the turbo kit hp/tq is pretty equal. An SC system tends to have lower torque numbers due to it being belt driven.

There are a few members on the site with RIPP systems. Just do a search and then pm them for some info. Some of them aren't very avid on Evom so give them a day or 2 to answer you.

Take the two dyno's i've attached. You'll see that the torque is close to the hp if not higher. The first is the base kit one pull at 7psi and the other at 8psi. The second setup is with the Alky injection. RIPP uses Methanol but that can be harder to find in California.

Good luck with your search and hope to see you boosting soon.

I'm guessing the SC is in the same price range as the turbo, in which case its def. not worth it.

depends on what each person wants like dangerousdan says, some people may want there hp right away and not wait for the turbo, others may just look at numbers and see that the turbo has more hp and just go buy that. everybody is different.

The SC has more HP less torque and no turbo lag. It's $300 bucks cheaper. It's cleaner looking, it doesnt have the ugly front mount intercooler, and it hasnt blown up anyones car yet.

i think a supercharger would be better for a sleeper. people know what a FMIC is for, they dont always know the sound of a supercharger. im thinking of going the supercharger route myself rather than turbo. and its easier to install...

Definately to each their own. Until i see the slips of one vs the other, its just a buncha peeps reciting what each does at the dyno. I'm leaning towards the turbo myself, but I'm guessing that you wouldnt be disappointed either way you went. I'd love to hear or see a clip of a s/c R/A in action also.

Ya exactly, I would be happy with either one, both have pro's and cons and it ultimately comes down to a personal decision. But there is alot of misinformation being spread around on EvoM and it's hard to make an unbiased decision.

Since you stated this... and this...

You must be one of those spreading misinformation. To date there have been 2 regular lancers to go boom with the SC, one Ralliart, and there have been more than plenty 3g eclipses.

To state the truth you'd need to say that these instances happened in usually one of 2 ways...

1) The car was in test/tuning and the owner pushed it when they shouldn't have.
2) The SC system was modified by someone, who thought they were smarter, and it blew.

Now this would be fact. At least reported fact. Neither system, when installed/operated/maintenanced/and respected has had a blown motor issue. However only one company states that they've had "NO blown motors since the black box." This is a technical falsehood considering the above.

This thread is once again hitting a topic that is going to fastly be spiraling out of control i think. Keep it true please and stick to facts. Opinions are welcome but should be stated as such to avoid confusion.

I was and still am unaware of any SC ralliart going boom, but my only source of information is EvoM. I stand by what i said and i dont feel it's misinformation. I do however think overlapping dyno's done on opposite sides of the continent on different dyno's could constitute misinformation. The supercharger threads always seem to spiral out of control when you make an appearance boe, and I dont think it's unintentional.
