your looking at about 18-19% of the original sales cost, depending on the PST.

Gotta love the 14% tax we in ontario get the pleasure (8% PST, 6 %GST).. takes a car from 25K to 29K pretty much...

Thanks for the replies guys.. I have a buddy who works for a software company whos makes software for the auto industry, hes going to let me know what the delaer invoice price is.. ill have a better idea of what i should aim for knowing that .. but 25K for a fully loaded sports compact is not bad (in canada) whatsoever and with 0% financing its a pretty good deal.. does anyone know what the reliability of these things are ? I mean the warrenty seems too good to be true so im guessing they beleive in their products .. Also is the speed of this thing comparable to the Mazda 3 GT, Corolla XRS, Sentra Spec V, and SI ? I test drove the car and the civic and the RA was by far the funner car to drive..

Also if i get a new deck for the audio system to keep the factory changer working im guessing the deck just needs changer controls (this is with the S&S package) ?

Hey Aver,

I just bought a new Ralliart in Canada and did bunch of research before hand. According to car cost, the dealer cost for a Ralliart (no Sun and Sound package) in Ontario is $22,825.00. The MSRP is $23,973.00. I was able to get my car pretty close to dealer cost, after haggling and letting them know I knew how much they were making off the sale of the car. They tried to convince me I should get all the additions like Life IInsurance, tinting, rust proffing, since was getting a deal on the car, but I said no. Any ways hope that helps.

BTW, already put 1,500 Km on the car and loving it.

Cheers,

Was the $25 k with or without tax?

I wouldn't listen to what they claim is there cost, fact is there's no way they will tell you how much they're really making off the deal.

25 tax incl, with tint isn't a bad price, here the dealers are asking $27000 inc. tax, and all the bull**** fees. I paid less, mine was 23,500-24,000 with tax and 7 window tint and some other minor goodies they threw in to make the deal )

Oh yeah, and that was the full load with a 5 speed.

Watch how they do the payments though, they tried to sell me on some bull**** 60/80 financing, or tried to tell me to go 72 months, don't do either, you'll get ****ed over in the long-run(assuming you're not paying cash that is ). Stick with 60months or less if you're financing, and make sure they also dont' try to force you into a bank rate.

They're a crafty bunch carsalespeople... Some girls my wife worked with recently bought an '04 ES, paid like 17-18 k for it, at a rediculas interest rate, with the belief, thanks to the saleperson, that they can trade it in in 6 months and not lose money on it...

i bought my 06 ralliart at the end of march, i paid 25,500 out the door taxes in, and got them to include window tinting that was 220.00 and also the evo 9 wing fom mitsubishi painted and installed, just the wing paint and install was 2700.00 canadian, but i got all that for 25,500 everything included, also got 0 percent interest for 5 yrs, the trick is. what ever the MSRP is on the car, you should be able to get it taxes and all other fees in for the that price, plus interest. as far as the mazda 3, i had a 2005 mazda 3, was a nice car, but not as much fun as the ralliart, also had a 2003 civic coupe, the ralliart is by far the best car i've owned out of the 3,

Haha... damn...

I just bought a beautiful black 06 ralliart. with sun/sound package, appearance package, and several accessories at dealer cost. plus i got damn near limo tint on my windows for free (texas).

i paid a hell of alot less than invoice.

invoice (minus)
- 1,000 special offer rebate
- college grad discount
- mitsubishi friend referral
- military discount

im not even going to post the exact number because it will make some people angry... you do the math

they were trying for a long time to sell the ralliart i bought and another like it that was a red 5 speed... because they were just not selling well in this area... im in massive pick up truck country (west central texas)... this Mitsu's market they todl me is is the Raiders, Monteros, and special edition Galants.... the sales rep even offered to send out a guy to pick up any mitsu i saw on his computer system in the state of texas that they didnt have already at the dealer.

i had an amazing experience with the dealer and salesman i worked with, they were EXTREMELY honest and did everything to get me out the door, and all this including the fact that i had a trade in worth alot less than what was owed on it... i managed to brake even

paid mine 28k (before taxes!!) canadian dollars. I bought it in 2004 but got it only 3 months later cause I had to wait for the 05 model to come out, all 2004 manual were sold already; thats why I paid the big price. but I have no regrets, this is the car I wanted...and money isnt much of an issue anymore so its not bothering me that much.

Eaxactly, if it's what you want, and you're ok with paying what you paid for it, then good on ya. The only reason why I was able to bargain mine so low was because it was Oct, and the last 05 they had on the lot(for 5 spd anways), and it was the 29, so they were itching to get all the sales they could before the end of the month. Timing is everything...but at the same time it was bit of a kick to the pants in Feb when Subaru still had an 05 Legacy 2.5gt sedan, full load, that they were willing to let someone steal off the lot for ~$34 k, they were taking offers... (the msrp is $41k cdn)...if I hadn't bought the RA when I did it would've been mine...but such is life, no regrets.

Perhaps technically, but market prices don't shift as quickly as the Canadian dollar goes up (or, the American dollar goes down...) Car prices are still in the area of 70-75 cents USD per Canadian dollar. Right now it is just under 90 cents. The price would have been right 3 or 4 years ago.
