I'm in SoCal too, and I get pretty good gas mileage. I'm not sure what mods you have, but maybe something is throwing off the ECU and causing it to run much richer?

I don't think it's a question of him just complaining about gas milage for th esake of complaining. He getting considerably less gas milage than what mitsu reports for his car. There is definately something wrong if you are getting that bad of gas milage in our cars. I would recommend taking it to the dealership and have them check it out.

On another note. I changed to synthetic oil (Royal Purple) recently. At first my gas milage went up slightly from about 23mpg to about 24-25. I changed my oil again using RP and my gas milage has shot up to 28+mpg. I still think there is something wrong going on with you car and it should be looked at. But for the others out there, switching to synthetic helps out.

freeway driving is great, just chuck on the cruise control and it hardly uses any fuel.
start tearing around, lots of starts n stops, and it just inhales the juice I've found

I have turbo and get 22-24mpg around town.
Every time I go to San Diego, I get 27-29mpg.
Now if I'm really stomping around on it, I will get 19-21mpg.
So, I would say if you are only getting 19mpg or less on just normal driving, yeah, sounds like somethings up!

I routinely get over 300 miles on a tank.

I also get about 500 kms to a tank (300miles) if I drive 'nice'. Make sure when you're calculating your mileage you're not dividing by your tank capacity but by how much you are actually using. When I use a full tank, I typically get about 42 litres of fuel in the next fillup. The tanks capacity is 50 litres - big difference.
Also, I see Apexi in your sig, I assume it is a Safc? Maybe you've got it running really rich where you don't need it.

Well, I replaced my HKS filter about a month ago, and NSC replace my torque damper with a newly re-design one, both which should help my gas and so far nothing. Honestly, this wouldn't be such a problem, if I had the power to back up the faulty gas, but some of my friends that own evo's, sti's or srt4 are getting better gas THAN ME, and they are NOT STOCK.

What is redline f/i? Where can I get it? Is it a fuel injector cleaner?
Yes its a fuel injector and system cleaner , the brand its Redline. Pep Boys have it and its great .I was having poor mpg and once I put it on the gas tank the car began to feel better and better . You will feel the car more responsive and quicker. The best $10 I spent on my car ! Try it you will notice the improvement!

Also hotter temperatures dont help to get high mpg . with the hot climate in P.R.(over 92degrees) I get about 250-260 miles per tank .
