Exclamation My gas just took a ****! Vol.2

So yeah, for the last month I have been examining my gas and im getting an outstanding 19mpg, woot woot! Anyways, im freaking fed up with this gas... and no, I baby her on the streets (its the work week), and unless im hanging out with car friends, I usually don't drive her. I try to stay above the halfway gas mark, unless I forget too. Im putting $25 in every other day. If my math serves me correct, im putting in $100 a week, and $400 a month. I don't think im putting in that much gas, maybe $350, but still this is causing me a headache. For example, I put gas in my car last night (10:30pst) that brought me to the 3/4th mark. As of now (4:42pst), I have only put on 16miles and the car is slighly under the halfway mark, WTF, WTF, WTF...! Ontop of that, I have not once gone into MIVEC, shifting at a painstaking 3krpms and staying slightly or exactly at the street speed limit. I also use 87 unleaded for the ralliart and I just had my oil change, tires rotated and yada ya ya. So im getting the gas mileage of some evos, but not the power, PWNED.

Im seriously at a lost of words, . What to do, what to do? Anybody else experincing my sitution?

wtf. I think someone is siphoning gas from your tank. Get a lock for it and see if that helps.

I would first start by measuring your gas with a complete fill up each time. I would find it hard to believe that the gas gauge reads exact. I usually fill mine up and run it until the gas light comes on, then measure. Use this method and consistant gas from the same station to determine where you really are at.

Thats my two cents!

On a serious note, I have always gotten just under 30 mpg. There was even one time I drained 3/4 tank going 90+ mph. I still got 21.5 mpg. I always fill up with medium grade gasoline.

Unless you're idling everywhere, milage shouldn't be anywhere near that bad.

That's quite a big loss in fuel consumption seeing you only made 16 miles.

Something not right, but surely someone will come up with something..

+1 You can't measure gas mileage w/o first starting with a full tank. Then drive, then fill it all the way up again. Then do your calculation. You can't get good calculations from bad data.

Ya know, for a moment I actually thought I had a hole in my tank, and well I check it out and I don't; but on another note, I actually keep kleenex in my car now, because when ever I put gas in my car, I need to whipe the tears, .

i'm getting about the same mpg as you and have been for awhile. i've just accepted it and try my best to keep it under 2500 rpm on the streets out of mivec on the freeway but of course i have to drive the shiet out it occasionally.

i dont trust the gas gauge too much, it can fluctuate alot.

I put a bottle of redline f/i and system cleaner on the tank and the mpg went up like when the car was new.

^^^ No SE light at all. Car runs great, better than one can imagine, just with horrible gas mileage.

What is redline f/i? Where can I get it? Is it a fuel injector cleaner?
