HIDS + Projectors

Serached around but couldn't find any good info. Anyone with projectors that has installed an H3 HID into them can you please explain how you did it? I have the projectors and the HIDS but can not see a way to install the HID without splicing the wires.

are they bosch H3 projectors? or they are the ones from ebay?
the best i would recommend is to do a retro fit on the ebay projector headlgihts...
meaning....swapping HID projectors instead of those H3 projectors. here's the link to the completed retro fit on the ebay projectors https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&page=18&pp=15
i am currently doing another retro fit.....i am putting in E55 bi-xenon projectors....so i should be done this weekend.

halo ring is easy to do (even I can do that) Streetconcept sells different coloured ones. All you need to do it open the housing take the wire that attaches the ring cut it pull out the halo ring ut the new one in and put the harness back together and done. That might not make sense as I typed it but once you open the headlight you'll understand what I mean.

It wasn't a retro fit (I'm too lazy for that) it was just a straight hid install into the regular projectors

isn't it dangerous to put HID's in a non-hid projector? won't that spread too much light and blind people? how did it turn out?

hm...to tell you guys the truth, those lens that you get from the ebay projectors are actually very clear (which is good) if you can, just mod it a bit such as.....the distance from the reflector bowl to the lens.. it will prolly be very nice projectors. but i would recommend changing the reflector bowl to the D2S ones. those works better since you mostly will be the factory BMW and the etc bulbs, which last longer.

The clearness of the lens doesn't have anything to do with the projected beam. The most important thing missing from NON-HID projectors is the cutoff sheild. I have done a retro or two and would never use halogen projectors. If you are going to bother doing a retro, do it right. get a set of Xenon projectors, ballasts and a good damn wiring harness.

eh...there is something call hybrid....there are some people who hybrid the 300Z projector lenses which are not HID, into a HID reflector bowl....and the outcome was super clear and wide....there is always little tricks to make it better.......and the clearness of the lens makes a difference.....read it up if u want....
