i was wondering if it was possible to turn our cruse control into a rpm lock..

i mean being able to set it when ur stop for launching,

this seems to me that there may be to many ECU things attached to it and some programing might ave to be dont no?? anyways jsut and idea that poped in my head let me know what ya think.

 

hmm.. that is a tricky question.. since we have electronic throttle (sorta) it could be done.... but your program would have to be able to disengage the second you launch.. I'm sure they make something that plugs into either OBD-II or the ECU.. Google Launch Controler

 

well its just a thought but you wouldnt need to turn it off u can use the gas peddle to turn it off when u WOT... but this is an idea ill go ask the mitsu dude i know about the ECU part of it. cause i know
1. to use the CC u have ti be doing at least 25 for it to start workin, so that would have to be turned off.
2. pushing in the clutch makes it turn off, so it wouldent hold the rpm in gear. the brake kills it to.

 

My CC only works when I'm in 5th gear I tried doing it at 4th but it didn't work.

 

mine works any gear over or at 25 mph

I highly doubt this is the case... CC should work in any forward gear so long as your speed is above 25mph...

 

im sure it would take as long and probably as expensive to just get a trany lock kit and not to mention the trany lock would respond allot quiker cool idea though
