Need your help - wind noise and some other misc. noises

With the colder weather, I’m getting a lot of creaking in the front and rear suspension. Bushings maybe? And the steering wheel is now making a rubbing noise when turning the wheel.

The creaking suspension is normal for the RA. It's not *right*, but it is normal. It's the poorly-designed lower control arm bushings in the rear that are creaking. They have a revised control arm available, but your warranty might already be out on your suspension.

Have you tried putting cloth tape over all the door, fender, and hood body seams? If that gets rid of the noise, remove the tape a piece at a time until the noise returns. Put that piece back on and see if the noise goes away again. If so, remove a different piece of tape until the only remaining tape is where there's noise if you remove it. Note the location of the tape, take pics, or even drive it back to the body shop with the tape on, and show them where the noise is coming from. I'm kinda surprised that they haven't tried this.

Well I suggested the "tape" thing and they are trying this today. I only have 23K miles, so I will take her in for the revised control arms. Thanks! Any ideas on the steering wheel rubbing sound?

The other suspension squeak, since you said you have one in the front, is most likely the struts. They also don't hold up well at all in the cold.

I haven't really driven a car with suspension that isn't noisy in the cold. It's not normal really but I don't think it's only the RA. Not sayin you said that but just for anyone else wondering. The RSX we had and the XC90 both got noisy in the cold too.

I had that wierd rubbing noise in my sterring wheel and it went away on it's own, within twenty- four hours. It sounded like crunching leaves when I turned the wheel!

The dealership had to fix my rattling sunroof!

But now I have a constant rattle in the top right corner of my windshield.

I think it's just a noisy car!

Well I had some time today so I brought it in for the noises. They ordered new front struts and said this would also cure the rubbing noise while steering. Prob is that it only happens when cold, and it has been pretty mild here in the NE.

No mention of revised control arms, but he said when the struts and suspension parts come in they will call. I guess I should have asked what the "suspension parts" were.

Well, got her back today and no more suspension noise. Replaced both front struts and strut bearings.
