Pad under Gas pedal?

So i got noesy today looking underneath my stearing wheel and such in my 06 RA and noticed what looked to be like a hard plastic pad underneath my gas pedal. by the looks of it i can unscrew it to take it out. By the look of it its a device to limit how far down i can press the gas pedal. anyone know nething about this. can i remove it?

Sure, but it won't make your car any faster.

It's added weight you don't need!

P.S. Race naked - clothes weigh too much.

I disagree. With our throttle by wire unit being mostly plastic, I'd hate to see someone remove that stop, push the gas too far, and break the throttle sensor.

Besides breaking the TBW sensor, you'll stretch the throttle cable.
BTW that pad already stops the pedal when it's at WOT, so removing it won't do a damn thing

better be safe and just leave it, when you have the pedal down there you're at WOT already so no point in trying to push it farther.. you'll just stretch the cable or do something worse...

I meant it doesn't do anything at all if you remove it. All that will happen with it removed is a stretched cable or a busted TBW sensor.
