So as of next month, I hit the 3 year mark with the financing on the ol' Ralliart. I'm not sure what the future holds as far as getting a new car but I've decided that I like the Ralliart enough and its practical enough that I will never sell it. When its paid off, I'll just keep it around as a beater. (By that time it will have roughly 115K on it). I'm gonna see how long i can milk it. Eventually, I'll get an Evo hopefully and make the Ralliart my daily driver.

What are your plans for your Ralliart?

 

I have a similar concept of "airframe" maintenece for my 03' Evo.

Airlines buy and maintain the airframes for decades while updating items like engines and avionics as they improve technology or wear out, but the actual plane may have been made in the 60's.

I will indefinately replace parts as they fail with newer and better ones. I'm curious to see how long I can drive it.

 

I haven't had the RA as long as you....but I think it will continue to be molded into what I want. Going to be VERY hesitant to starting over on another platform unless something disasterous happens.
My wife asked me a similar question lately: "when this is paid off, are you going to trade it or just keep it?"
I didn't have a real good answer for her. But she knows what I want to do with it.....make it one bad track ****.

 

I plan on holding onto my RA until March 2010, when my warranty runs out. Depending on how it still runs, I'll add a turbo. If it's falling apart by then, I'll just sell it and go for the EVO XII.

Turbo wagon would be suhweet though. Hey I got your overlays on.... haha.

 

Keep it until it is so dead I can't resurrect it.

im gonna keep mine until its paid off, then i might either sell it and get an evo viii or a ix...or i keep it as a daily drive, while i race my future evo haha

 

I'll be running mine into the ground. I'm shooting for 200k. At my current rate, I should get there around 2012. When it's paid off, it'll continue to be my daily driver while I invest in a "fun" project car, probably a used Evo or something like that.

 

I will say thing, after putting all this effort and time into this car it wouldne be worth selling again. My plains are to keep it till it falls apart around me and I can not repair it anymore. 115k miles on cars now days doesnt mean much since there are cars that run well past 200k. I am just hitting 67k on my car and personally think it will last well past 200k if kept up on the maintanece ect. Those are my plans, and next car wont be new, I plan on getting a used GT-R after they been in the states a few years and play with it.

I'll keep mine for the 10 years warranty !!! so 9.5 to go and less then 10k KM on the car...

maybe we'll get my fiance a 2009 Lancer in 2 years tho (ES or GTS)

 

Once its paid off im getting a company vehicle, and this baby becomes the weekend car. then its turbo keep building until it blows the auto tranny, rebuild it as an manual and see how far this thing can go.

and my son's 3 so i plan on having it long enough for him to be praying he drives it when he gets his lisence, fat chance.

 

i plan to keep mine until it dies and all the mods that i plan to do will go down with it
