wierd popping sound

hey guys ice searched around a little bit for an answer for this and havent really found anything and wondered if anyone had a similar problem or had any suggestions to what it might be. however sometimes while driving theres a wierd poping sound that sound like its coming from the front passenger's side, almost like a rock is hitting metal, but it isnt that i dont think haha because once it does it once it keeps doing it. it happens usually when the car has been sitting overnight and usually when its cold. i usually hear it going over a bump or while taking a turn and even sometimes when stopping, its not too loud but noticable, so if anyone has any ideas it'd be great.

did you check to see if a rock was hitting metal somewhere? Check the strut assembly, someone has had this problem and it was actually a rock - see it was funny and sarcastic at the same time

The RA is known to have noise issues, but I believe most have been with the rear shocks or dashboard area. I just ignore any noise unless it's a mechanical issue, then I UPGRADE!!! I can't wait till my shocks go bad. WOOT!!!

A friend of mine had the same issue with her RA. She brought it in to the dealer and it turns out that they forgot to take the spring blocks out of the front springs upon delivery like they are supposed to. You might want to check that. If they are still there just jack your car up and pull them out. They are there to keep the spring from collapsing when they ship the car.

I have this exact same problem and knew what you were talking about before I entered the topic. My ralliart is a 2004 every now and again when gpomg over speed bumps or making a sharp turn I hear this "popping sound" I've had mitsu and my mechanic check it out...no luck.

Check the stabilizer bars under the car, where the bushings bolt up, sometimes they get loose, I had my left rear one losse enough to sound at times.

Also check all the rear suspension linkages and the like, just grab your tools and check that all the bolts are tight since you cant really see them loose by only looking at them
