The stock header dosen't compare to the RRM header - so if you get the cat delete from RRM and don't change the H/DP you might see 3-5HP depending on your other mods (i.e. UDP & CAI)...if you plan on doing the header and the downpipe it's not even worth keeping the stock CAT on because it's so restrictive. You can eather (for `05+ models) buy the CAT delete along with everything and then just bolt the cat back on for e-check, or buy the high flow cat and be done with it all...

If you're sporting the RA then you already have the stock header all you really need is a cat back, and downpipe if you so chose to do it. Just my two cents....
Crawl under your car and take a look at your downpipe. That is the most restrictive part of the exhaust system.....it looks like a pancaked pipe.
Intake does provide some gains without an exhaust, not just make cool noises. Exhaust does less without an improved downpipe or HF cat. You need more than just a cat back to improve the RA's stock exhaust system.

RRM used to sell just the downpipe piece, but I'm not sure if they do anymore since they came out with the Header/DP combo.
IIRC....Otter used to have it on his car and told me it was LOUD. I don't know about sounding like crap, since that is subject to personal opinion.

I'll be putting it back on my car in the near future, but this time with a 28" magnaflow resonator. Should sound better than when you heard it at WWI. A number of people who have catless RA's (either via the header/dp or just the dp) have reported that their sound got a lot better by replacing the stock resonator with a better unit. Lemme see if I can find the video of my car with no cat and just the magnaflow exhaust. Should give the orig. poster an idea of what to expect if he/she gets the header.

Edit: Here's the video, shot by E2L. http://home.comcast.net/~rmbrowning/otter_run.wmv
It's louder than the video lets on, but you can clearly hear the annoying high pitch of it. When I go catless again with the new resonator I'll try to get some sound clips.

I forgot about that video. I was holding my daughter (she was 7 months at the time) and trying to take video. She wanted to commentate on your run, and I was indulging her!!

oh really, cause alot said they did feel gains they just werent real significant...and yea a catback sounds good but its alot more money and doesnt really get you real good gains without a header and dp.

You try juggling a kid and a camera while sitting in a lawn chair.

You have the option of HF cat or testpipe.
