UD Pulley or Exhaust?

hey guys, i dont know if this has been talked about before but i was just wondering if you guys would recommend an rrm ud pulley or a catback exhuast system as a second mod. the only mod i have right now is an AEM SR Intake and just want to know if i would get more out of a ud pulley or catback exhuast performance wise with the intake.

Well.... one costs $100... the other $400... different ballparks. I would recommend the pulley though, it'll probably give you more gains.

pulley without second thought. i was able to immediately tell the difference in acceleration, the exhaust almost seems like more of a show/sound upgrade as our exhaust piping is already a pretty decent size for stock.

you'll only feel the exhaust if youre running the header, and even stil its not close to what the pulleys gives and its 1/4 of the $$.... the exhaust sounds great though if thats part of why you want it.

I went down this road: CAI > Pulley > Header/Downpipe + HFC > Cat-Back Exhaust.

For peformance, yes the UDP is best bang for your buck. For peformance later on (and even the word peformance wouldn't be the best thing to say for a CBE on our car depending if you have turbo or not and now I'm just dribbling s**t) but yeah, exhaust.

its been stated by some guys who know better then me that the DP is the most restrictive part of the exhaust and any mods to the exhaust wont help alot at all until you get the stock DP out.

UDP: low-end torque, cheap
catback: higher-end power and torque (to the best of my knowledge), expensive

i would do UDP if i werent worried about balance and stuff.

Pulley and Engine Damper, all that torque lost at the fly will magically reappear!

Definately get the UDP. It's an easy install too.
Exhaust is more of a tuning mod, IMO....and is more complimentary to other modifications you have done. You can probably wait on the exhaust.
UDP is a must have. Best bang for your buck.

If you already have the intake I would do the exhaust system. Intake won't do much but give you a cool sound without exhaust. They work together. The UD pulley is nothing to buy later on. Sure it'll give you a good gain, but in order to make your intake useful you have to let all the air you're bringing in out somehow. That's where the exhaust system comes in. If you're sporting the RA then you already have the stock header all you really need is a cat back, and downpipe if you so chose to do it. Just my two cents....
