Sounds to me like your clutch isn't disengaging fully. Does the clutch start to engage real close to the floor? How much free play do you have?
I would have the clutch ajusted, but usually if it starts to hook up very close to the floor it's pretty worn already.

 

to get to reverse you have to be at a dead stop, not even rolling, and its still a pain in the nuts to get it in

 

Mine will go into reverse if I'm rolling forward slowly. I'm at 77,xxx miles and due for the third fluid change. Not by the maintenance schedule in the manual, but by my schedule.

 

Hey guys, thanks for all the input and concern...
Well yesterday i got my car back. It was at the dealership for about a week. After they looked at it, they came to the conclusion that...
1) All the gearsets had rub marks on them
2) The counter shaft had rub marks on it as well.
3) The dog teeth were worn and or broken on 4 of the gears.

So after a day of them trying to get out of the warranty, they finally got the ok from the Mitsu rep to order a new transmission. So after a few days they got it in and put it in. It shifts so nice now, no more clunkiness like i had before. I must say it is nice o have a brand new transmission in at 28,000 miles.
But it was still kind of funny how they tried everything to get out of the warranty, but not this time stealership!

 

my ra has the same probelm since day one i have 4k on my car and it does that all time i put it into 5th then go to reverse works all the time
