just looking at the pic it really doesnt look all that strong. Looks like a thin peice of metal and I dont know what kind of moding you are going to do to your car but I would be willing to bet it doesnt hold up to a turboed RA. I am getting the other dampner that I know was broken and then redone and made stronger.

I have it.

NSC is reppable company and makes quality products. The Engine Damper is by far my fav mod to my ralliart, all that torque lost magically reappears, instant pull when you hit the throttle. I would buy it without question.

I wouldn't buy it simply because of the $18 shipping, which is BS. The NSC dampers do get favorable reviews but the company itself has proven that it sucks. Since you're not buying it directly for them, I'd say go for it.

How does that work exactly? Not denying it does, just curious - and why would the manufacturer not have the engine set up that way already if something that simple makes sure a difference?

It works by physically connecting your engine, at the passenger side mount, to the strut tower. Manufacturers don't do stuff like this in order to preserve ride comfort.

I really don't get these torque dampners.

I've seen it been discussed a million times and still don't get it

Arith or someone, please explain it. How does it actually reappear the lost torque?

So basically by not allowing the engine to physically move on its mounts you get more torque or power etc. to where it belongs - guessing harder (polyutherane for example) engine mounts would be an improvement on the same principal (and again arent like that stock because of ride comfort)?

Get someone to go to your car with you, pop you're hood. let them turn it on and rev it up. see how much the engine rocks. that movement is making you lose traction off the line b/c of the weight shift and losing your torque. the engine damper simply holds it still to help stop that movement.
