Question which intake...

i was going to order the injen cai from rod millen motorsports website and then my friend told me to check out the weapon r secret weapon intake...

weapon r intake - $199.99 w/free shipping

vs.

injen cai - $218.30 w/whatever shipping is (anyone have an idea on that?)

soo which do you think i should get? im still leaning towards paying the extra and getting the injen but i want some opinions...

I love Injen products as I only use Injen in my Turbo Mazda 3 and my Turbo Scion TC...
In my neighborhood everyone owns Injen, so if I were you I'd go that route if you must, plus I love their sound.

Weapon who?

Sorry go with either:

1. RRM
2. AEM
3. INJEN

They're all good in their aspects in terms of peformance. In terms of peformance for money, RRM is the way to go. Injen and AEM are fantastic in terms peformance as well, price a little dearer, option to go CAI to SRI if need be - and from many reviews, they have quite the whistle, spool-up sound when the pedals to the metal.

Weapon-R doesn't make an intake for the Ralliart and I wouldn't go with either. Go with RRM's. Injen's is crap (doesn't fit right, prone to breaking). Fujita is overpriced. AEM is a good option, but will probably cost more than RRM's.

There's threads here about it. Hell, I'm one of the people with an Injen intake and I'm not impressed. It doesn't allow for ANY engine movement. The only reason my intake hasn't completely broken is because I have filled mounts. Before I had filled mounts, I had an AEM bypass on my injen intake, and it tore in half! On top of that, when I installed my mini-battery, I found that the engine movement was causing the intake to rub against the stock battery and there's nearly a hole in my intake tube now.

There's a good chance I'll be switching over to AEM's short ram later this year. I like how they placed the filter and I'll probably put a heat shield around it.

Fujita. Without a question.
INjen had two guys, they argued. one left and made fujita. only difference, red stripe or orange. oh.. and a drop in price.

Just told you how It doesn't allow for engine movement. Our engines moves a ton. Even ask Rock, he's seen the broken Injens in person. The lower mount, where it connects to the frame of the car, completely tears out of the aluminum. On top of that, it rubs up against the stock battery.

otter i found a thread about a broken clip from an injen cai and you posted that you have one and havnt had any problems because you didnt tighten the mounting clips all the way...really think thatd help? now im just concerned because i drive my car pretty hard..the only other mod that would be on the car with the cai would be the rrm udp and the next thing i was planning on buying after the cai was the rrm engine dampers/motor mounts..think if i get those after the intake id be oK?

Nah, that was before my bypass broke. The reason my intake didn't break was because it was slowly tearing my bypass apart underneath the foam.

If you installed filled mounts or a damper, and found a way to keep the battery tray from rubbing a hole in the intake (cutting it) then you should be okay.
