hey, you might be buyin an evo 9 cluster in KM/h.. I'm not through with you yet.

The instrumentation guys say that theres a chip soldered to the electronic part. he might be able to take out the old chip, and reinstall the new chip.
tomorrow i'm going to call mitsubishi and see what they can do for me.
*crosses fingers*

I think that chip just controls the odometer, not how it actually reads. Here's the problem, even if you could swap the chip, what are you going to swap from? The standard ralliart cluster isn't like the standard evo so it won't read right. You'd have to get the chip from a KM/h evo but obviously at this point you might as well just buy the cluster.

From the sounds of it.. you've tried this?

I'm thinking about taking the entire evo9 panel off and putting it on my RA face. then taking the evo 9 face and putting my RA panel on it.

if that makes sense.. just doing a lil swap. that would work. I'm just hoping the pins line up, thats a job for saturday night

Swapping faces won't work, for one look at the location of the RPM and the Speedometer, it's different. The RPM needle won't display the correct speed and vice versa. Your only hope is to buy a KM/h cluster.

I don't think you're an idiot, I think you're like me, which is lazy. If you're concerned about resale you shouldn't mod the car at all, every mod you do is going to drag the price down and possibly make the car unsellable.
