Inspection..Failed...sort of...

I went for my inspection today (I was due for May) and they called me up to say they can't pass it because of my wipers. I was wtf?!?! My car is 1 year old exactly today.

I just can't believe they didn't want to pass it and then I could of went and bought new wipers.

Oh well. They changed the rubber on it so now it's ok. I'll be changing my wipers for winter.

They'll fail you for anything, i got failed for my high beam being out, i walked up replaced it right there in front of him since i had a spare set in my car, and he told me to come back so i drove around for a day with a Rejection sticker, got pulled over and then had to tell the cop why i failed and that i fixed it. After all that, i went back, he didn't even run it on the machine and just gave me the sticker..

I'm afraid that i won't pass with the RRM CBE cause i have a small leak in it behind the cat because it didn't seal up tight enough. (nothing wrong with the CBE though)

Go to a better shop to do it! (PM me if you need Bruce).

Anyways that's lame for the high beam idea. I ran out of time this month.. haha.. but went to a random shop on Mass Ave when I was heading to work.

The guy didn't have a problem, but one of the younger guys at the shop was saying "that exhaust is too loud" The older guy doing my inspection said... his tint is legal, the car looks great, and I think the exhaust sounds nice.

Lmao.. he passed me in 10 mins and he was very nice and professional.. only stalled my car once

I've had issues before in MA when I got my new bumper painted (on my DSM) And he said I had to put in the front license plate. I zip tied it, he said no. He said $15 and I'll screw it into the bumper.. @#$@#$ so I just did it myself anyways. He passed me still.

I haven't had too many idiots, one guy warned me about "white blinkers" but he said go buy some yellow ones and come back and I'll finish the sticker.

I might have to look into your offer Rice Rocket... i'll try to pass normally first, see how things go. I've never been checked on tint though... Nor side markers.. haha

Damn, we don't have inspections.

I'd try making some good friends within the road inspection business lol.

We don't have vehicle inspection here, only emissions testing. For OBDII cars, they just plug in a scanner and look for stored codes. No codes=pass. Now that I tuned the RRM Piggy to prevent the "P0171 - System too lean" code I was getting for a while, I should pass easily. Just in time, too. I have to get the car tested this month.

The thing is that most people can "use their own discretion" which can lead to power tripping and/or "inspection ****'s".

If the exhaust is to fail, then they should do a decibel reading test.. not "think" that it's too loud. Much like tint. I've had it questioned before, but they should all have tint meters!

Exhaust leaks.. well if it's bad, sure it's a hazard.. if it's a little putt or hiss.. hmm pass or fail, again it's up to the individual's judgement.

I usually just stick with the places I know are "cool" and make a list to boycot the ones that are "asses".

We don't have scheduled inspections here, its just if you make big mods to the car (like a turbo etc.) apparently and if the police give you a defect notice... or it was an unregistered or expired registry car.
And they will try get you for anything. Was having my father in laws daihatsu applause inspected and he wasnt impressed (but let it slide) that the interior light didnt come on and other things like that. Passed though so that was a relief.
