You're never going to know unless you've used it but it does simplify the oil change even more.

No such problems, even when driving through snow several inches deeper than my ground clearance. The angle of the plug in the oilpan shields it pretty well against this kind of thing, and anyone who tells you it might accidentally open has never had one. You have to lift up on a spring-loaded lever, and then turn it to open the valve. It is pretty difficult to turn, you have to really want to open it.

Mine has never leaked, opened accidentally, or gunked up to the point where I couldn't open it when I wanted to.

The oil drain bolt wears out faster than a fat man in a marathon.

It is really nice to just put your hand under and flip the tiny little valve handle

It's all good till you dump all your oil on the street or track somewhere.

I can see that happening, is there a pin or locking mechanism on any of these valves?

I read up on a bunch of other local forums about them, and no one has had problems with them. They've even run some on off road trucks and they worked fine.

The Japanese cars are coming with these stock.

The valve handle which is hardly over 1 cm drops in and locks. You would have to bottom out to the point that you crush the oil pan by then it's alreadyt to late and the dmage would be done to the pan anyway.

thanks adam, I was waiting for someone to use the word "locks" in some fashion. I don't mind unscrewing the plug, except it's super mess. Do you remember the threads for the plug by any chance?
