+1 on the mounts, you don't want to have to do the rear mount with everything in the car, especially if you think the IM is a PITA

Yeah that rear mount with everything in the car can be a pain, but its still not "hard" requires a little more patience in getting it done, and i'd HIGHLY recommend ratching box wrench, such a huge time saver,

I think a "little patience" is an understatement when this guy is ready to throw a hammer through his windshield It doesn't sound like patience is his thing

hehehe, ok true, but truth be told, when me and a friend did the mounts on my car, there was no cussing involved (atleast that i can remember), creativity however was oozing out of every corner of the engine bay to get that rear mount out

yeah, if you read my DIY you would see I ended up using every extension and u-joint I had to loosen some of the bolts from over the passenger side wheel.

Yeah we used every combination of universal and extension and short or deep socket I had to finally take that thing off. Hopefully it'll go on much easier now that 1) I know what to expect 2) some of the bolts wont be seized up and 3) I have friends w/ smaller hands who can help from the start lol

Interesting, cus i only used one short extension, and that was it, no u-joints what so ever, but i did most of the removal and install from under the car with the center member removed. like i said thou, the ratchet box wrench saved my life on this one lo

my ratchet box wrenches are too wide for most things that I have needed them for. that's what i get for buying harbor freight who makes the ones that aren't ratchet but slip in one direction? you flip them over to tighten or loosen? I need some of those.

Also, I more or less painted my garage floor with coolant.... What a PITA
Yeah, pretty much. Watch out for the o-ring on that coolant tube, too. Mine cracked when removing the manifold, and took the dealer a couple days to get me the right o-rings.

I havent studies anything yet, but I was under the impression that there is coolant flowing throw part of the IM near the #4 cylinder?
If you want, Drew, I'd be happy to help you swap manifolds. I've done it a couple times now, not too difficult, just time consuming.

I thought of Bob Villa when you mentioned those wrenches, so it's probably Craftsman. That's not a bad idea, either. My ratcheting box wrenches are a bit on the fat side, too.

The ones ive been buying are made by gearwrench, the heads are fairly small, double box, and you can flip em over to change direction. ive subjected them to a ****load of torque and they wont break

yea the IM is a real PITA...most troublesome thing is the bolts under the IM and for taking it out you will need help ....as otter said o-ring might break or stretch. After installing look carefully at the Temp gauge...most likely engine will get hot becuase air got in the cooling system...this happened when isntalling on qlitv's RA

solution was wierd but.....it worked unhook one of the hoses of coolant that goes to the TB(not the return one)... open the lid of the coolant PLASTIC container, put your mouth there and blow away until coolant comes out of the hose....
